Chapter 6 Exposure
Chapter 6 Exposure
Li Wei, dragging his weary body, had just stepped out of the intersection of the Pyramid of Futap and the main road of Tizka.
Under the moonlight, his already pale face suddenly froze as he sensed a naked malice following him.
He paused, then strode back the way he came, but as he quickened his pace, the malice behind him grew stronger.
Li Wei stopped in his tracks, and with a flick of his wrist, another scroll of "Shadow Spear" suddenly appeared in his hand.
He bought this with 500 Hub Points when he realized he was being followed.
He originally intended to pretend he didn't know and leave normally.
He knew that anyone who dared to openly follow him in Tizka was most likely a member of the Blind Order.
His body was a problem of a fallen psychic, or perhaps it couldn't be hidden and attracted the hounds of the Blind Order.
Moreover, this place is too close to the Pyramid of Fatep; if a war were to break out, a group of guards there would be enough to give him trouble, not to mention that Magnus was also there.
Unfortunately, the enemy did not want him to leave.
Directly in front of Li Wei, under a crystal street lamp, a bald scholar appeared out of thin air.
His face, as white as parchment, had a shiny bald head, which, though etched with intricate and mysterious symbols, was particularly striking in the moonlight.
"Good evening, Scholar Amon!"
Li Wei took a deep breath and smiled dryly.
Amon truly lived up to his reputation as Magnus's most trusted confidant, accurately pinpointing his own weakest moment.
Because his "mental endurance" had been almost completely exhausted.
"Mental Endurance" is the ammunition of psykers in the Warhammer universe. As long as a psyker's Mental Endurance is not depleted, they can continuously draw energy from the warp to launch attacks.
His mental stamina had been almost completely depleted during the psionic surgery.
"Scholar Li Wei, please lower your guard. I have some questions to ask you. Of course, this is just a routine investigation."
The scholar Amon gave a forced smile, but it was so fake that Li Wei felt it was mocking him.
Li Wei thought for a moment, then pretended not to know what Amon was talking about, and vaguely replied:
"Scholar Amon, although you are the chief mage of the Black Raven School, I am a scholar of the Phoenix School. I am very tired tonight and have been busy with Lord Magnus's affairs. I will continue to be busy tomorrow morning, so I have no time to deal with you."
Towards the end, he deliberately emphasized the word "Magnus," attempting to intimidate Amon with the imposing presence of Magnus.
But Amon wasn't having any of it. He slowly stepped forward, his spiritual energy growing stronger and stronger.
Li Wei unconsciously clenched the wizard's scroll in his hand, his whole body tense.
His psychic intuition told him that even with his previous "mental endurance" at its peak, he was still like a firefly compared to the bright moon in front of him.
Not to mention now.
"Sigh, what a bad start. Hopefully, that prop will come in handy."
Livy had already given up resisting, after all, this place was too close to the Pyramid of Fateh.
Li Wei could only pin his hopes on the mental shielding runes he had previously acquired, hoping they would fool the Blind Order's soul detection.
This is also why Li Weiming, knowing that this body was suspected of being a corrupted psychic, still didn't find a secluded corner to hide in.
First, if he hides, it's tantamount to admitting guilt, and the blind cult will immediately execute him on the spot.
Secondly, as long as enough Hub Points are accumulated, the threat posed by the Blind Order is not worth mentioning at all.
He hadn't expected to be exposed so quickly, which was a significant deviation from his plan.
next second.
Li Wei was prepared to be arrested.
Behind him, a violent fluctuation on a psionic level emanated from the Pyramid of Futap.
That was Magnus's "aura," cold and violent, instantly engulfing the entire Tizka.
Before Li Wei could react and fully comprehend it, the scholar Ammon before him changed his expression drastically and exclaimed in shock:
"My Lord Archmage! What happened? Did the surgery to cure the flesh mutation fail?"
The next moment.
Magnus's roar echoed through the real universe.
"Dead! All dead! How could those Qianzi who were saved have turned to dust in an instant! How is this possible! I don't believe it!"
Li Wei suddenly looked up at the Pyramid of Futap in the darkness.
At this moment, psionic turbulence was surging and energy storms were raging there, creating an apocalyptic scene that reflected Magnus's overwhelming rage and despair.
The scholar Amun had lost his will to capture Livy. He strode forward, past Livy, and headed to the pyramid to appease Magnus.
But Li Wei's expression did not relax at all. He noticed that there were still people coming from the side of the street.
He didn't even need to think; that person was definitely a member of the Blind Order.
No matter how you try to hide, you can't escape the blind church's scrutiny.
Li Wei's expression darkened the moment the members of the blind cult surrounded him.
A psionic communication suddenly emanated from Li Wei's mind, heading straight for the Pyramid of Futap.
The message was quite simple.
Only one sentence.
"I can save Senko's life!"
The next moment.
A crimson figure appeared in front of Li Wei in an instant.
This is Magnus.
But at this moment, Magnus had long lost the elegance of a scholar. His once neatly combed red hair had become disheveled, and his amber eyes had turned deep black, revealing a near-desperate madness.
His "spiritual energy" was surging and on the verge of getting out of control, but he still held a glimmer of hope as he stared intently at Li Wei.
Hopefully, Li Wei can say something helpful to soothe his broken heart.
Livy spoke, much to Magnus's anticipation:
"Your Excellency Archmage, the mutation of flesh and blood is not a genetic defect, nor is it ordinary subspace pollution... Soul Branding, Blood Curse, is a hidden curse of the vast ocean."
He spoke in a cryptic tone, half-truthfully, and in particular, he incorporated some core knowledge of souls and curses from the wizarding world.
He paused for a moment, then continued:
"I have a way to save... but..."
Magnus's eyes lit up.
Like a drowning person grasping at the last straw.
What do you need?
He asked urgently, "I'll give you anything to save my offspring! All of Prospero's books and resources are yours to command!"
"All done!"
Seeing Magnus's anxious look, Livy knew that his answer had precisely hit Magnus's weak spot.
However, the next second.
Amon, who was standing nearby, hurriedly stepped forward and said:
"My Lord Archmage! Scholar Li Wei is involved in a blood sacrifice array and a human life. He's spouting nonsense to save his own life!"
"What?" Magnus turned his head sharply and looked at Amon with a frighteningly cold gaze.
"Amon, what time is it now? My offspring are turning to ashes! The entire Thousand Sons Legion is heading towards destruction! Don't worry about him being just a suspect; as long as Li Wei can save them, what does it matter if he really is a fallen psychic!"
He shoved Amon aside, pulled Li Wei behind him, and said in an unquestionable tone:
"From this moment forward, Livy is the supreme advisor of our five major schools. No one may censor him or interfere with any of his actions. Anyone who disobeys will be executed without mercy!"
Amon's fists clenched so tightly they cracked, but he didn't say anything more, only lowered his head.
Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief.
He knew he was safe for the time being.
But he also knew that this was only temporary. If he showed even the slightest weakness, he would definitely be targeted again by Amon, who was hiding in the shadows.
In fact, he did not truly crack the method of the Thousand Sons' flesh and blood mutation.
He simply covered up his previous lies with an even bigger one.
But he felt that entrusting his life to the blind cult was an extremely irresponsible act.
He may not have a solution, but that doesn't mean the wizarding world doesn't.
With enough hub points, there's nothing you can't buy.
