Chapter 338 Lin
Luffy nodded excitedly, a bright smile on his face, and then, with the huge sea beast, followed closely behind the little boy, heading towards the village together.
Along the way, they traversed dense jungles, waded through crystal-clear streams, and passed colorful flowerbeds and strangely shaped boulders. Every scene dazzled them, as if they were in a dreamlike world.
Finally, after a long journey, they arrived at the village. A group of hospitable villagers had already gathered at the village entrance. When they saw Luffy and his crew, they cheered and quickly surrounded them. These villagers were dressed in brightly colored and uniquely styled clothing, and each of them wore a sincere and warm smile.
Next, the villagers brought out all sorts of strange and wonderful delicacies to the table: golden-brown, crispy roasted unknown fruits, savory chunks of meat cooked with special spices, and exquisite pastries exuding an irresistible aroma. Faced with such a sumptuous feast, Luffy ate heartily without any hesitation, stuffing his mouth full and occasionally letting out satisfied exclamations. The sea monster beside him was not to be outdone, opening its blood-red maw and devouring the large pieces of food suitable for its consumption.
Just as everyone was immersed in the joyful atmosphere of the gathering, the once clear sky suddenly darkened without warning. In an instant, a huge shadow, like a dark cloud, quickly enveloped the entire village, making the previously bright light instantly dim. The sudden change terrified the villagers; screams filled the air as people scattered and fled, trying to find safe hiding places.
However, in stark contrast to the panicked villagers, Luffy showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, he jumped up from his seat with boundless excitement, his eyes shining as he looked up at the sky. There, a colossal bird hovered, its wingspan as vast as a curtain that blotted out the sun. This bird was covered in brilliantly colored feathers that shimmered with an eerie light under the sunlight, like a legendary divine bird descended to earth.
"Wow! This looks interesting!" Luffy shouted excitedly, then without hesitation, he strode forward like an arrow, charging towards the bird. Behind him followed the equally menacing sea monster, its deep roars seemingly a show of force. As the bird swooped down on the village with lightning speed, Luffy stretched out his strong arms, ready to meet the fierce battle… stretching his talons like rubber to ensnare the bird. The sea monster, in turn, spewed a jet of water at the bird's abdomen. Enraged by the attack, the bird flapped its wings, creating a gust of wind. But Luffy was unfazed, using the wind to leap onto the bird's back. After a fierce struggle, Luffy subdued the bird with a single punch to the head. The villagers cheered, praising Luffy's bravery. Luffy scratched his head and grinned foolishly, while the sea monster roared joyfully, as if celebrating its victory. Afterwards, Luffy sat back down at the table and continued to enjoy the food he hadn't finished eating.
Just as Luffy was happily devouring his food again, a melodious horn sounded in the distance. Luffy curiously looked up, his mouth still stuffed with food. The villagers, however, looked tense upon hearing the horn. It turned out the horn was coming from a pirate crew from a nearby island; they frequently came to plunder supplies. Upon hearing it was a pirate crew, Luffy's eyes lit up. He stood up, patted his stomach, and indicated he wanted to go see. The sea monster wobbled behind him.
