Chapter 510: E

Chapter 510: E

Dawn cultivated until the sky darkened, and then he opened his eyes. He checked the climate outside and then searched his wardrobe. A few minutes later, he wore a black hoodie and jeans. I went inside the kitchen and took the fruit knife to sharpen the tips of a few chopsticks. He did not know why but felt it would not be a smooth ride for him tonight. So, he turned three sets of wooden chopsticks into throwing weapons for safety. Fortune Nation was a multicultural country; its people came from all over the world, and this influence existed in every aspect, from cuisine to festivals.

He carefully hid the chopsticks inside his sleeves. Dawn did not want to get caught by any of the people and moved through the stairs. His dark attire helped him blend with the shadows and avoid drawing attention from the people who had come out for a night walk.

Dawn could hear them talking about the incident in the noon. Their talks did not worry him because, from what he could figure, the people were not blaming him or Grace for it. The thing about weak people was that when they faced a more serious threat and someone managed to avert it, they all gathered together to show praise for their hero.

The young man exited the residential block and waved down a taxi. He said, "Master, can you take me to the Sun Temple?"

The taxi driver raised his gaze to look at Dawn in the rearview mirror and asked, "Is it not too late to visit that place? It would be deserted by the time you get there."

Dawn acted shy and softly said, "I know, sir. However, I am meeting someone there, and then we plan to watch the sunrise together."

The driver chuckled and said, "So it turns out to be a romantic rendezvous. It’s good to be young; I used to sneak out during my old days, too."

The driver was a middle-aged man; he did not suspect Dawn after this white lie. On the contrary, Dawn had an urge to throw this guy out of the vehicle so that he could focus a bit. His heart was uneasy, but the Prince of Heaven knew that he had to venture into troubled waters to fish for a pearl.

It took them about an hour and a half to reach the vicinity of the Sun Temple. Dawn paid the fare in cash and got out of the vehicle. The driver lowered his window and said, "Little brother, remember to use protection when you head in for battle."

Dawn was surprised, and since he had no idea about the reference, he instinctively replied, "Yes."

The driver smiled and said, "Smart kid, I did not use protection back then and ended up with a kid in my early twenties. But I do not regret it. My daughter is my sunshine. Alright, have a good time."

That said, he waved at Dawn and whooshed away, leaving the young man standing on the sidewalk with a shocked expression. Finally, he realized what sort of protection the driver was hinting at. He spat on the ground and said, "You better not meet me again, old man."

Then, with a scoff, he walked toward the building a few meters away. The Sun Temple looked like a pyramid, but at its crown rested a big crystal. Dawn narrowed his eyes and decided to investigate this temple after he finished checking out the graveyard.

He fished out his mobile and opened the map to check the directions of the graveyard. He mumbled, "Why would someone build a graveyard behind a temple?"

He moved around the temple and found a secluded and gloomy path leading to the graveyard. Dawn did not think much and followed the tiled path to approach the graveyard’s gates. After a few minutes, he sensed nothing odd and stepped inside the cemetery gates when he flinched back.

He widened his eyes and began looking around in a hurry. This whole time, he had been trying to sense the presence of Yin Energy or a stronger spiritual energy. When he stepped inside the cemetery, he sensed strong Yin energy. It did not make him happy; on the contrary, it scared him.

His body was not yet strong enough to handle this strong Yin energy. If he were to rush in mindlessly and absorb the energy, forget about his body, even his soul might freeze from the chill it carried. Dawn cultivated the Sutra that could convert any attribute into pure spiritual energy, but that would need him to run the energy around his body nine times. This time was enough to kill him. He could not understand why there was a spot with such a rich yin energy in the city.

Dawn was in a fix; he had not expected such a thing. The energy was right before him, but he had no idea how to use it. He clenched his fist in frustration and began to look around. Suddenly, he thought, ’Why was this energy so condensed inside the cemetery?’

The young man carefully walked along the cemetery. He inspected the place carefully, but he did not sense the existence of any barrier. Dawn frowned, but just as he was about to return to the gates, his gaze fell on the crown of the sun temple.

Suddenly, as if struck by lightning, he froze. After a few seconds, he said, "I did not expect it to be like this. The sun temple crown stores strong Yang energy and restricts Yin from escaping the cemetery and vice versa."

After some thought, Dawn moved closer to the temple. He found a spot between the two establishments, sat on the ground, and sensed the spiritual energy. As he expected, although the energies were not leaking out, as long as he managed to attract one of them and break the balance, both energies would surge toward him.

Dawn took a deep breath and recited the Nine Heavens Sutra. The spiritual energy in the surroundings began to needle through his acupoints, and as time passed, the speed increased. The spiritual energy in the surroundings was rich because of the presence of the two elemental attributes.

After an hour, Dawn used up the spiritual energy to temper his skin slightly. Now, he sensed the vital Yang energy radiating strongly from the Sun Temple and the chilling Yin energy from the cemetery. He extracted only a sliver of Yin energy to ensure that his presence did not cause any scene in the surroundings.

An abrupt change in spiritual flow could cause natural phenomena; also, it was better to act slowly and smoothly. The wisp of Yin energy moved through the void and made contact with Dawn’s body. The sudden chill made him shiver as if his blood froze into crystals. Following the chill, Dawn experienced great pain.

Yin energy represented not only cold but also death. The deadly element began to attack Dawn’s body, killing it slowly. The wisp of the energy was equal to a hair, but its impact on his body was too drastic. Dawn clenched his jaw and endured the pain. This pain was the reason that he did not wish to enter the cemetery.

Yin energy was akin to a needle moving through his flesh. It threaded his meridians and also his acupoints. The method was brutal, but this was the only method Dawn could use. It was not like he was still the prince of the heavens and had all the elixirs at his disposal.

The Yin energy connected his acupoints, and after he finished the nine cycles, the cold energy converted into a warm sensation, easing his pain. However, the young man did not have the time to relax. He sensed the Yang energy from the temple and controlled a wisp to enter his body. He could control the elements because of his soul being merged with the remnant of the predecessor.

Soul energy was the key to manipulate the energies, and with his soul being slightly stronger than an average person, and the accumulation of the knowledge from the heavens he was faster and stronger than the normal rookie cultivators.

A wisp similar to the one of Yin energy moved toward Dawn. The young man began to sweat as soon as it entered his body. It was as if his body was set on fire. His forehead was laced with sweat, and his skin turned ruddy. The nature of Yang energy was the polar opposite of that of Yin.

The hot wisp of energy healed the damage left behind by the Yin energy and made the newly connected acupoints stronger. Dawn smiled as he sensed this. Now, he could increase the speed and the amount of energy he absorbed. He meticulously followed his plan and did not notice that even though the energy was condensed, he absorbed it quickly.

His body-tempering realm entered the third stage, where his internal organs were being nourished. All this progress was made in two hours. It was midnight when a loud voice suddenly shook the place: "Who dares to steal my Yin energy?!"
