Chapter 15: Bathroom Break
Chapter 15: Bathroom BreakSnapping out of his thoughts, Min-ho took in a deep breath, then he floated a space backward with his gaze running across the entirety of the Systems before him.
A wave of unease washed over him as he dreaded this being the one and only time he could do this. Yet, he wouldn’t find out if he didn’t leave, and he wouldn’t accomplish much if he stayed in here.
They had a big day ahead of them, and he needed to prepare himself for it.
With a sigh, Min-ho wished to leave.
He opened his eyes to find his System in front of him.
[Name: Mee Min-ho, Rank: E]
[Affinities, Equipment]
[Inventory, Shop]
[Coins: 35,350]
Having confirmed he was back, he let out a deep sigh.
’Didn’t think I’d be able to come back so easily,’ Min-ho thought, before narrowing his gaze to the Coins.
Looking at the numbers, his heart thudded.
He still couldn’t believe it. So many Coins in just one night. He and the others would have to kill well over 50 Spectors of the same Tier as them. Which was by no means an easy feat.
Turning away from his Coins, Min-ho wanted to take a look at the Developer Options.
Looking down, his breath caught as he felt his heart stop.
’Where is it?’ he asked, jolting up from the floor only to slam his head into the roof of his stone tent.
"Ow," he groaned, but ignored the pain.
He dismissed his System and summoned it once more, but nothing. His mind raced,
"Of course it is," he added, then begrudgingly followed behind.
Their walk was silent for several moments, but Savior had something to say to Min-ho.
"You hate me, don’t you?" she asked, her voice low and solemn.
Her question caught Min-ho by surprise, leaving him to contemplate her words for a second.
"Do I hate you?" he reiterated, trying to understand how he felt about her.
’Why am I so against her? It’s not like she’s done anything to harm me,’ he pondered, truly wondering why.
Perhaps it was because he felt like she was taking his autonomy away with her Affinity, or maybe because she was making deals behind his back about him, or maybe... it was just because of what she did to those people?
He wanted to understand, he really did. He knew for a fact she had to do what was necessary for them to survive, yet he found it a hard pill to swallow.
’Get with the program,’ Min-ho thought, as he began to scratch his thumb.
"I don’t hate you, I’m just bitter," he said, trying to believe what he was saying.
Savior said nothing, the only sound echoing across the hallway connecting to the massive corkscrewed shaft was their footsteps.
"You shouldn’t hate me, it’ll make working together difficult," she said, keeping her gaze pinned ahead.
Silence fell once again.
"I can understand why you did what you did, but you didn’t have to kill them, you could have just pushed them off," Min-ho expressed his feelings.
Savior said nothing.
After several echoes of their footsteps, she spoke.
"I had to... I needed their Coins."
