Destroying My Own World

Chapter 301 Clockweaver.

Chapter 301 Clockweaver.

The woman was standing right in front of them and they couldn't stop staring at the hourglass in her left hand. The hourglass had a tiny bit of sand left on the top half, and it was going down so slowly. They wondered what would happen if the last grain of sand fell to the bottom.

"Now now, don't waste your time by staring at it. You don't have much time left and if you're wasting it on observing that, you will notice how fast the time can pass," The woman said and suddenly the sand started to fall faster than before.

The moment that happened, all of them averted their gazes from the hourglass and focused on the woman. They couldn't see anything but the white cloth that covered her face, they wanted to see the face of the being that controlled fate and time.

"Now now, don't waste your time thinking about who I am, and what I look like. You're going to die before you can find the answer," The woman warned as she put the hourglass on the ground right in front of Mykel.

The woman sat on her legs and tilted her head as she looked at each of them. She had long and sharp fingers that looked like clock needles, and they were covered with white cloth as well. She then tapped on the hourglass and that was the same ticking sound that they heard earlier.

"Mykel Alester. How long are you planning to live your life?" The woman asked as she rested her chin on the back of her hands and her hands rested on top of the hourglass.

Mykel who couldn't speak or move his muscles suddenly could move and open his mouth.

"For as long as I want," Mykel answered without showing a single fear on his face.

"That's problematic," The woman hummed as she tapped on the hourglass. "Right now, the span of your life has reached the end, and this is how much time you have left," she pointed out as the grain of sand fell to the bottom, leaving two grains of sand on top.

Mykel who saw how much time he had left, felt like his body had become weak like an old man on his deathbed. Every beat of his heart, it felt so painful that it made him unable to breathe properly. He realized how unnerving it was when someone else could control over his life.

"Look, one grain of sand is falling down," The woman said.

Mykel held his chest as he felt like his heart was being squished so slowly. He couldn't hold his scream as he fell down to the ground and kept pressing his chest.

"Hold my hand," The woman said as she offered her left hand to Mykel.

Mykel held the woman's hand and she had weird manners, like a high-rank noble asking the partner to escort her. He then walked next to her as he kept holding her soft and cold hand, following her. His hand was like a baby hand holding an adult hand, but the woman's hand shrunk as she resized herself to be equal to his height.

"Shall we start over now?" The woman asked, but she seemed to be talking to herself as she waved her right hand.

A string-like white energy appeared from thin air and it created a massive circle with engraving in between the energy. The circle turned into a giant clock with thousands of needles of different lengths and shapes. Not only the needles, but the clock itself had more than a thousand engravings on each side.

"I know you have so many questions," The woman said as she kept putting her hand above Mykel's palm. "You can call me Aevia, the Clockweaver, the Keeper of the Clock," she continued as she operated the clock.

"Aevia," Mykel said as he looked at the woman next to her. "Are you the one who created everything? The one and only being?" he asked.

"Yes. I'm the only everlasting being, controlling the outcomes, the past, the future, and the present. Everything is created by my fingers," Aevia answered as she pointed to the needles in the top middle. "Just like your predecessor, your existence is to erase all existence. finding the right path where all lives can continue moving without any interference," she explained as she stared at the clock.

"What are you talking about? You're the one who controls the flow of time and fate and why do you need to find it where you can just create it?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

"Have you not heard what I just said about who I am? I'm a Clockweaver and that's who I am. I'm capable of manipulating everything, but that's not what I want," Aevia answered and looked at Mykel with the shape of a smile underneath the cloth on her face. "Just like this clock. I let it run without interfering with it, not even once, but in the end, everything must have come to an end. My main purpose is to create a happy accident, and that happy accident I'm talking about is you," she continued as she poked Mykel's nose.

Mykel had so many questions on his mind and wondered what Aevia meant by that.

Aevia glanced at Mykel and suddenly she pulled him away from the clock, startling him and almost losing his balance. She brought Mykel somewhere else even though there was nothing but whiteness, but suddenly a blue stream of energy surrounded them and turned into a water stream.

She pushed Mykel into the stream and he was being carried away by the stream. She was standing there and he could tell she was enjoying it, seeing him struggle to escape the stream.

"Enjoy the ride. I'll meet you on the other side," Aevia said as she waved her hand.
