Chapter 164 Graup
Chapter 164 Graup
The next morning, Hogwarts Castle woke up from its white blanket. The snow had stopped. After breakfast, Hermione planned to prepare lessons for Hagrid, and Harry and Ron were excited to go along.
Hermione glared at Harry and Ron, then said, "Have you finished your homework? If you don't finish it on Sunday, do you want to stay up late on Monday? Or do you want to give Umbridge a chance to punish you?"
Harry and Ron returned to the common room somewhat dejectedly. Aries wanted to go to the DA hut to continue practicing magic, but Hermione held his arm.
"Honestly, dear! I don't think Hagrid will listen to my advice..." Aris said helplessly.
"We'll have to try it first," said Hermione stubbornly. "I don't want that old toad to have any chance of hurting Hagrid."
The two chatted as they walked towards Hagrid's hut. Eris waved his wand and the snow on the road jumped happily, automatically forming round-headed snowmen that stood on both sides of the road cleared by Eris like guards.
After arriving at Hagrid's hut, Hermione went forward and knocked on the door, but there was no response, so Aeris also walked forward.
"Fang didn't bark," said Aeris, "and there was no other sound in the house, and Hagrid didn't have to hide from us. He must have gone to the Forbidden Forest. What do you think, dear? Shall we go to the Forbidden Forest to look for him?"
Hermione hesitated, but Aeris took Hermione's hand and tapped her head gently with his wand.
"Disillusionment Charm," Aris explained when Hermione looked at him in confusion, "Actually, I have a guess. If we find Hagrid in the Forbidden Forest, this guess can be confirmed."
Aries also used the Disillusionment Charm on himself and entered the forest from a small path. As they walked, Aries cleared the snow on the road. The two of them were like a couple taking a walk.
They didn't know how long they had been walking. When Hermione was uneasily persuading Aries to go back, they heard the sound of some fighting. The two of them quickly took two steps and hid behind a big tree to observe the situation.
I saw the Scottish fairy dragon Norrington fighting with a giant. The giant was only about sixteen feet tall. Norrington, who had not been seen for a long time, was a small dragon, but taller than the giant.
The battle did not last long. Norrington, who possessed wisdom no less than that of humans, soon knocked the giant to the ground. Norrington was usually so docile that Aerys forgot that he had pure dragon blood.
Norrington angrily roared at the giant lying on the ground, which frightened Hermione beside Aeris.
The dragon's roar also woke up Hagrid who was not far away. Hagrid got up from the ground in a somewhat embarrassed manner. Neither Aeris nor Hermione noticed that Hagrid had fainted not far away.
"Stop, both of you!" Hagrid shook his head and ran over to stop Norrington from hurting the giant any further.
"What on earth is going on?" Hermione asked in a trembling voice.
"It's possible that the giant knocked Hagrid unconscious, and Norrington was protecting Hagrid," said Aeris.
After removing the Disillusionment Charm, Aris and Hermione walked out from behind the tree, and Hermione carefully hid behind Aris.
"Hagrid, won't you introduce this friend to us?" said Aeris.
Hagrid was obviously startled, but he was relieved when he saw it was Aeris and Hermione.
"Oh, it's you two," Hagrid said with an evasive look, "This... this... well... this is my brother... Grawp..."
"So," Aeris asked, "some of the injuries you sustained yesterday were caused by him?"
"You can't blame him," Hagrid said quickly, "He just can't adapt to the sudden change of environment..."
"Is this the point?" Hermione said a little collapsed, "Hagrid, you hid a giant in the Forbidden Forest? Have you ever thought that if he accidentally walked out of the Forbidden Forest..."
"Of course I will limit his range of action," Hagrid said quickly, "I won't give him the chance to hurt others, no!"
After being beaten by Norrington, the giant Grawp calmed down and sat on the ground, looking at Aeris and Hermione curiously.
The first impression Grawp gave to Aeris was that this big guy was extremely ugly. His skin was as rough as rock, and his large pores made his big face look bumpy.
"So you saw your mother? Hagrid!" Hermione asked cautiously.
"No!" Hagrid answered simply, "She...she...she seems to be dead..."
"Oh..." Hermione said awkwardly, "Sorry! Hagrid!"
"There's no need to apologize," Hagrid said indifferently, "I don't have much impression of her, and you can't expect a female giant to have much maternal brilliance, but my brother... he is always bullied in that giant tribe. Compared to other giants, he is really short, and I really can't leave him there..."
On the way back, Hermione was a little dazed. Her plan to prepare lessons for Hagrid had gone wrong. Hagrid insisted that he could come up with a course that would amaze all the students, which made Hermione feel powerless again and again.
