Chapter 138 Dudley's Fear
Chapter 138 Dudley's Fear
"You've made a mess of yourself, Potter!" Draco said in his usual mocking tone.
"Did I die miserably in your dream, Harry?" Aeris said with a smile.
"Where... have you all been?" Harry yelled without a care in the world, "You left me here all alone, with no letters or replies. I've had nightmares for more than a month, and yet you were able to contact each other, but you left me all alone..."
"That's enough, Potter!" Draco also said loudly, "We are worried about you and come to visit you, not to let you vent your emotions..."
"Stop talking," said Aris. "Harry, you might be in trouble..."
"Don't I have enough trouble?" Harry said excitedly, "Looking through old newspapers, hiding and eavesdropping on Muggle news, having nightmares, Dementors..."
An old lady hobbled over. "He's right, Harry, you're in trouble," the old lady said. "The Ministry of Magic can't find a reason to target you. Merlin, a group of Dementors have come to the Muggle community... Mundungus Frankie, if I see him again, I will break his bow legs... Harry... help that big guy up, you need to go back to the Dursleys now..."
"Mrs. Figg?" said Harry in confusion. "You... aren't... how come... you are a witch?"
"Don't be silly, child," said Mrs. Figg, "I'm a Squib, and Dumbledore sent me here to look after you..."
"You also know Dumbledore?" Harry found it even more incredible.
"Of course I know Dumbledore," said Mrs. Figg matter-of-factly. "Who doesn't know Dumbledore?"
"Don't waste time, Harry!" said Aris. "Help Dudley up. You need to go back to the Dursleys. You will be better protected there."
Aeris helped Harry to lift up Dudley who was lying in a puddle of mud. Harry came to his senses and asked in confusion: "We all used magic, why am I the only one in trouble, you...you guys..."
"They... the Ministry of Magic... know that there are underage wizards using magic, but they can't confirm who is using it," Draco said. "I'm afraid you are the only underage wizard they have registered in this area. They have detected traces of magic here, so they will only point all the fingers at you, Potter! Don't talk to me about fairness or unfairness. It has always been like this. What can I do?"
Harry's eyes flickered and he had to swallow the words that were about to come out of his mouth.
Dudley swayed as if his elephant-like legs were made of noodles. Harry put Dudley's arms on his shoulders, and Dudley's weight bent Harry's waist. Aris also helped to support Dudley.
"Cheer up, Dudley Dursley!" Aris roared, incorporating inspiring magic into his voice. Dudley shuddered noticeably, and his legs seemed to have regained some strength.
Aris glanced into Dudley's eyes and said in surprise, "When he was attacked by the Dementors, the most terrifying thing Dudley saw was himself? Interesting, there are people who are so afraid of themselves!"
"What?" Harry demanded. "The thing Dudley is most afraid of is himself..."
Before they had walked far, an owl flew over and threw a letter to Draco. The red envelope was very eye-catching.
"Howler?" said Harry, and was about to put his wand away, but Mrs. Figg beside him screamed:
"Don't put your wands away. You can't put your wands away. Don't count on me. I can't even make a small stone float. If those things come back..."
Draco reached out to catch the Howler and tore open the envelope without hesitation. Professor Dumbledore's exasperated voice rang out:
"Eris, Draco, what did I ask of you? Go back to the Greene's house quickly. You will only make things worse if you stay there. Go back quickly, don't stay there..."
