Chapter 1149: Half for You
Chapter 1149: Half for You
After preparing the meal, Jiang Xue came to hold Little Reunion and took him to eat. Little Fox saw this and followed Jiang Xue to the dining room, drooling when it saw the food on the table.
It had been a long time since it tasted cooked food. Previously, Jiang Xue would enter the space to roast some meat for them, but now, she hadn’t done that for quite a while.
Lately, it had been eating bamboo marrow every day, while Big Tiger had been catching rabbits and other wild animals in the forest to eat.
"Do you want to eat too?" Jiang Xue found Little Fox’s expression amusing and said to it, "If you want to eat, you’ll have to wait; I’ll feed Little Reunion first."
"Woman, can’t you give me half first?" Little Fox rolled its eyes at Jiang Xue. If Little Reunion ate his fill, it would be Jiang Xue’s turn to eat next. Meanwhile, it would have to take care of Little Reunion and have no time to eat.
"Give you half?" Jiang Xue glanced at Little Fox and then at the food on the table and in the pot. Fortunately, she planned to make fried rice the next day, so she cooked extra rice intentionally.
However, if she gave the rice to Little Reunion, she would have to eat something else the next morning.
"Yeah, give me half, and then I can eat with Little Reunion. Once we’re done, I can continue helping you take care of him; wouldn’t that be great?"
"Alright, I’ll give you half!" After some thought, Jiang Xue agreed and divided the food and rice, giving half to Little Fox.
Seeing Jiang Xue separate the food, Little Fox was overjoyed and was about to jump onto the table to eat when Jiang Xue shot it a look and said, "Eat on the floor!"
Little Fox looked aggrieved, then quietly squatted on the floor and began eating.
Jiang Xue paid no further attention to Little Fox, focusing on feeding her son. When Little Reunion finished eating, she took him back to the living room and placed him on the carpet.
Meanwhile, Little Fox had already finished eating and resumed its role of watching the child. Only then did Jiang Xue return to eat her meal.
After quickly finishing her food, she tidied up the dishes and went to play with her son and Little Fox. Just then, the phone rang; Jiang Xue saw that Mr. Mu was calling.
She quickly pressed the answer button and heard Mr. Mu say, "Xue’er, I heard that Qian Cheng went to help with disaster relief?"
"Yes, Grandpa, he’s been gone for two days."
"That rascal, he didn’t even tell me he was going to help with disaster relief." Mr. Mu said a bit angrily. He wouldn’t have known that Mu Qiancheng’s school went to aid Southern relief efforts if he hadn’t visited the military base today.
"Grandpa, don’t be angry; he went to help with disaster relief, not anything else. We should feel proud of him."
Jiang Xue comforted Mr. Mu, easing his anger, and he said to Jiang Xue, "Xue’er, since Qian Cheng has gone to the south and we don’t know when he’ll be back, you and Little Reunion might as well come live at the estate."
In Mr. Mu’s view, Jiang Xue and Little Reunion living alone there is not only lonely but also unsafe. Plus, if they moved to the estate, he could see them daily, unlike now, where he couldn’t visit if he got busy.
Jiang Xue understood Mr. Mu’s good intentions but declined, saying, "Grandpa, there’s no need; we’re living well here. And it’s very safe; my brother often comes by to help me."
"You child, moving here would be great; I could help you when needed, wouldn’t I?" Mr. Mu continued to persuade.
