Chapter 1228: Stop Sighing Already
Chapter 1228: Stop Sighing Already
After getting leave from their mom, William Turner followed his sister and brother-in-law to the Military District Compound. This was William’s second visit there.
The first time he visited was on the day of Easton Holmes and Lily Turner’s wedding. There were so many people that day, he didn’t get a chance to look closely at what the Military District Compound was like.
Since childhood, William had dreamed of joining the military. As he grew older, his dream only intensified. When he found out his brother-in-law was a soldier, he was thrilled.
Lily knew about her brother’s dream. As soon as she got home, she pulled William in front of Callix Linton, "Grandpa! This is my brother, he..."
"Lily girl! Grandpa’s memory isn’t much worse than you young folks." Even though Callix’s memory wasn’t as sharp as the young ones, it was good enough. He couldn’t forget the brother-in-law of his grandson. Pointing at William, he exclaimed, "Will!"
He only knew the Turner family called the young man Will, as no one had told him William’s full name.
Seeing that Grandpa Linton recognized him right away, William was quite excited. He quickly approached to greet him, "Hello, Grandpa!"
"Hello, young man!" Callix Linton reached out to shake William’s hand, and with a gentle pull, he had him sit down by his side.
William was surprised by the sudden action, but not scared. He quickly hid his surprised expression, "Grandpa, you have quite the strength."
This was no flattery, just plain truth. He hadn’t expected an elderly person to have such strength.
"Grandpa is an old soldier."
Seeing Grandpa Callix so fond of her brother, Lily was overjoyed and sat down on William’s other side. She leaned over to look at Grandpa Linton, "Grandpa! Will has always admired soldiers. His dream from a young age is to become the most admirable person. Please, share your experiences with him."
She secretly poked her brother in the waist, signaling him to seize the opportunity to learn more about military life. Gaining more knowledge would benefit his future military school examinations.
"This old soldier is outdated. Let Easton tell Will his experiences." Callix Linton wasn’t trying to avoid telling stories to William. He genuinely felt that what he knew was outdated and couldn’t keep up with modern trends.
Lily initially thought about asking Easton to talk to William, but he had so many things to do every day. She didn’t want to add to his burden, so she had brought William to Callix Linton first.
"What do you mean outdated? Grand..."
"Grandpa! You are indeed old and in the past tense now."
Athena Linton suddenly interrupted Lily, walking over, she pulled William up from the sofa, "Come upstairs with me to do homework. After finishing, I’ll get my brother’s books for you. I guarantee you’ll find them interesting."
As she spoke, she dragged him out of the living room.
Watching the two walk away, Lily couldn’t help but sigh. She hoped her brother would learn more from Grandpa Callix, but that girl easily took him away. Wasn’t her effort all in vain?
"Honey! There will be more opportunities and time in the future. There’s no need to sigh anymore." Easton Holmes hadn’t said much all along, but he had been observing Lily closely. None of her actions escaped his eyes.
