"What do we do?"
"Of course, we should get them to bring the gold ashore first."
The bear goblin, holding his pipe and grinning with his fangs, said, "Don't rush into action today. Old Gok, have your ships loaded with tung oil and flammable materials and set sail tomorrow during the day. Come back at night, prepare the ramming horn, and set fire to their ships under cover of darkness, making them burn as well."
Gao Ke's expression was not good.
“Damn it, it’s my ship again,” he cursed. “Fine, but you have to give me a new ship in return.”
The goblin said, "Those people in town also need to be eliminated. Let them stay here for one night to put their minds at ease. We'll make our move tomorrow night with the fireship. You can arrange the details yourselves."
“By the way,” said the woman who had previously been filled with hatred for the six-armed serpent demon, “should we inform the governor about our actions?”
The word "Governor" seems to possess a special kind of magic.
Everyone fell silent, and they all glanced at the dilapidated stone tower on the cliff out of the corner of their eyes.
The bear goblin shook its head.
"We'll talk about it after we get it," he said cautiously, as if afraid of being overheard. "We'll talk about it after we get it tomorrow night."
At two o'clock in the morning, it was completely dark.
Ivy Beate stood quietly on the mainmast of the three-masted sailing ship, holding a grilled fish made by Qingpaopao, gazing at the distant, twinkling lights of Blacksail Town.
—Failed to bait the area, wasting such a big piece of bait.
She reluctantly grabbed the grilled fish from the plate and took a big bite.
—You really overestimated the guts of these bastards.
She didn't stay in the house that Old Gouk had arranged for them in town at all. After turning off the lights, she left the others behind and used "Advanced Teleportation" to return to the three-masted sailing ship.
Everyone on the ship was already used to her elusive nature. Qingpaopao, who had returned to the ship early, even cooked her a grilled fish without salt.
She looked up at the starless and moonless night sky.
—After being cooped up for so many days, I really, really want to kill someone.
The soul energy also needs to be replenished.
Whenever she thought of those pirates' typically ugly, deformed faces, she felt an urge to turn them all into experience points.
But these guys are all residents of Blacksail Town.
Frustrated, she lowered her gaze, casting it from the dark sky to the silent, dilapidated stone tower in the distance.
When others look at the dilapidated stone tower during the day, they can't see its secrets, but they can't hide it from her six-armed serpent demon's "eye of truth".
That dilapidated tower may look unremarkable, but it is clearly an activated magic tower!
That Black Sail Governor is the owner of a magic tower!
Regardless of how this guy obtained this magic tower, he's definitely not someone to be trifled with.
Those who can activate magic towers are either wizards or warlocks. Arcane spellcasters are proficient in various spells, which is secondary. The key is that they are mostly adorned with magical artifacts, their endless stream of methods like a kaleidoscope, a headache for anyone who encounters them. They are nothing compared to that bland, stupid dragon that was recently resurrected. Think of "Red Assassin" Patrick; that guy is a quintessential example of a kaleidoscope of magical artifacts.
Not to mention, the magic tower itself is a fortress that combines offense and defense.
Arcane spellcasters typically choose to build magic towers on leyline nodes, utilizing the magic power of the leylines to allow the towers to unleash power far exceeding the spellcaster's own abilities. It's similar to how ordinary people on Earth in the past had limited physical strength, but that didn't prevent them from pressing a button to launch nuclear missiles.
Although the magic tower doesn't pose much of a threat to her, dealing with it will definitely be troublesome.
So if she were to kill all the pirates in town under the pretext of "cleaning up the city," there's a good chance things would get complicated later.
This made Ivy Beatrice tone it down a bit.
Since taking the initiative is a bit lacking, but if these guys come to my door to board and rob me, then don't blame me for my greatsword being itching for a fight.
So she threw a gold brick at them.
That gold brick was indeed a "pass," but it wasn't for her; it was for the pirates. It guaranteed the soul's direct passage to nothingness, a one-step solution that saved them the trouble of going to a "lower plane" or hanging the "Wall of the Unbelievers."
That's what she thought.
She showed the pirates the gold, and if they had been even slightly smarter, they would have targeted the three-masted sailing ship. Because the few women who landed didn't have a large crew with them, they didn't seem like they were carrying a large amount of gold.
Therefore, you can teleport back to the ship in advance, sharpen your knives, and wait for the fat pig to come knocking.
Of course, if the pirates are hopelessly stupid and turn their attention to the town's Raphael the Devil Claw and Medusa-like Stéphane, she can easily arrive with a single "Advanced Teleportation" spell, without wasting any time.
Unfortunately, it seems these silly fish aren't completely stupid yet; tonight's wait was in vain.
Ivy Beatrice sighed regretfully and disappeared into the mainmast.
She appeared in the pitch-black captain's cabin and expertly picked up the glass bottle containing the breath reservoir from the display shelf on the bulkhead.
The next second, she appeared in Gululos's private lounge on the top floor of the casino hotel.
"Advanced Teleportation" is one of the six-armed serpent demon's signature skills. It is a precise teleportation that will never send him to any place he shouldn't be, and it has no distance limit, allowing him to travel thousands of miles in an instant.
When Gu Xiong refused to have his breath reservoir transplanted, Ivy-Beate had already decided on her next test subject.
The best candidate for transplanting the breath reservoir is none other than Gurulos.
As a dragon of bad blood, Gurulos possesses a rare dragon bloodline, so the compatibility between his physical body and breath reservoir should be excellent. His powerful physique is also sufficient to withstand the trauma of transplantation and rejection reactions.
Furthermore, Gululos's adventurer class is Barbarian, and he cannot cast spells or use magical items in his berserk state. If he could master Fire Breath, it would greatly enrich his offensive options. If he also acquired several super-breath feats that broaden the application of his breath attack, it would be even more perfect.
The only risk is that the Flame Breath reservoir comes from the Red Dragon, and it is unknown whether it will be resisted by the Bronze Dragon bloodline.
As soon as she was teleported over, Ivy Beatrice realized something was wrong.
This is supposed to be Gululos's private lounge, but the room is a complete mess.
Its emerald green vertical pupils scanned the room.
All the furniture was overturned and crooked on the ground, and the paintings on the walls had been slashed seventeen or eighteen times with a knife.
Gurulos's desk was dismantled, every drawer was thrown out, and the floor was covered with papers and torn documents, as if it had been swept by a hurricane.
—Has something happened?
Ivy Beatrice listened intently, but there was absolutely no sound from the hallway outside.
Keep in mind, this is the middle of the night, which is the busiest time for casino hotels!
The six-armed serpent demon took out a communication crystal ball, intending to contact Gululos, but then changed his mind.
She cast the fourth-circle arcane spell of the mortal hunter class, "Biolocation".
The mortal hunter class enjoys great freedom in spellcasting. Upon reaching the corresponding level, they automatically master all available class spells, and can cast spells freely as long as they don't exceed their daily spellcasting limit. The six-armed serpent demon's exceptionally high charisma attribute grants her an inexhaustible supply of magic.
The drawback is that this profession has very few magical abilities; most of their magic revolves around reconnaissance, tracking, assassination, and interrogation. "Biolocation" is one such example.
This magic can be used to detect the location of a known or familiar creature. The caster casts the spell, then slowly turns their body; they will sense the direction the creature is facing, and will also know where it is moving as it moves. Flowing water will hinder the effect of this magic, so unless Gululos goes out to sea, she will not be able to sense his location.
Ivy Beatrice closed her eyes, slowly rotating the giant serpent's body, patiently trying to pinpoint Gurulos's location.
After a good seven or eight minutes, she opened her eyes.
His emerald green vertical pupils were already icy cold.
No matter which direction she was facing, she could not sense Gurulos's location.
The six-armed serpent demon remained silent for a moment, then took out a box from its dimensional bag.
She opened the box and silently gazed at the symbol of allegiance that Gululos had given her. It was a piece of flesh that she had asked him to cut from his body when he met her in the plaza after she attacked the "Red Forest" temple and handed her Gidelortin's head.
Several homeless people were warming themselves and eating around a fire.
Since they started following the new boss, Burn Scar, their lives have begun to improve.
Because in Fire Harbor and Downtown, no one dared to discriminate against them anymore. The money they earned through hard labor would not be arbitrarily deducted.
Everyone who dared to do that died.
Those who discriminate against Greenspeakers will have their eyes and tongues gouged out by the Burn Scars. This applies to everyone, regardless of gender, age, or age.
For those who withhold wages from migrant workers, Burn Scar would brazenly visit their homes, cut open their bellies along with their families, pull out their intestines, and hang them all on trees with those intestines.
He doesn't want their money, he just wants their lives.
However, his followers gradually discovered that their leader was a very strange guy.
During this time, they followed him and killed many gangsters, taking a lot of money from them, but they never saw him spend it. All the stolen money, Burn Scar always put in a tattered sack, and he would mysteriously carry the sack out, seemingly handing it over to someone in the upper city.
He himself remained with them, living a disheveled vagrant life in the ruins of the refugee camp in the burning harbor.
He doesn't care about money, food, clothing, or enjoyment. Sometimes they feel that he lives like an ascetic.
The only difference between him and an ascetic is that his sole purpose in life seems to be killing, using his fists, palms, feet, knees, elbows, head, and even his buttocks and genitals, using every part of his body in various ways to kill.
At this moment, Burn Scar lay lazily opposite the fire, closing his eyes to rest.
The communication crystal ball placed on his stomach suddenly began to flash.
The burn scar opened its eyes.
Ever since killing Gurulos and finding the crystal ball in the church's hidden wall, Burn Scar has kept it close at hand.
This crystal ball is imbued with magic, and it seems only Gululos can activate it.
Scarface didn't know how to use it, but he didn't hand it in either. From the moment he saw the communication crystal ball, Scarface understood that Gululos wasn't the real leader of the Bronk Gang; he was just a pawn in the game, and there was someone else behind Gululos.
After all, the task that woman gave him was to find the real mastermind behind the Broncos gang.
“Quiet down,” Scar said. “Get out of here.”
His voice wasn't loud, just his usual tone. But all the green-clad vagrants wisely stepped back, keeping a safe distance from the fire and their leader.
A blurry portrait appeared on the crystal ball.
“Hello, it’s me,” a buzzing voice came from the crystal ball.
Scarface watched with great interest, muttering to himself, "Finally, we meet. The real boss of the Bronco Gang, let me see, who are you—"
The smile froze on his face, and his eyes turned cold again.
The image that appeared in the crystal ball became clearer; it was a dead person, or more precisely, a dead dragon.
He personally killed Gurulos!
Chapter 102 The Power of an Iron Heart
The two people staring at each other through the crystal ball fell into a strange silence.
The six-armed serpent demon used the "mortal form" to transform into the richly dressed Gurulos, intending to startle his opponent and gain the upper hand. However, he never expected that the person opposite the crystal ball would be a disheveled, green-skinned vagrant.
The religious and planar knowledge left to Ivy Beate by the demon Delaz made her intimately familiar with the extraordinary beings of the lower and upper planes, but the rare local creature before her was precisely a blind spot in her knowledge.
—A half-orc?
She looked at it carefully, but then felt it didn't seem right.
The orcs of Toril were brought to the world long ago by a group of wizards in eastern Faerûn who recklessly opened "interdimensional portals," sparking the earth-shattering Orc Gate War, which not only ravaged eastern Faerûn but also attracted the orc gods. In the world of Abel, however, there is simply no fertile ground for orcs to survive.
But that doesn't mean there are no orcs in the world of Abel.
About a decade or so ago, the evil god "Black Sun" of Toril successfully assassinated the goddess of magic, causing her divine realm to collapse and explode, resulting in a blue plague ravaging the land of Toril. Then, a group of reckless Toril wizards decided to use legendary teleportation magic to transfer their entire kingdom to the world of Abel to escape the blue plague. These bird-like beings ruled a kingdom called Harua, and they considered themselves direct descendants of the Nether Wizarding Empire.
As an aside, I must say that the wizard Toril truly has a talent for dragging everyone into suicide in all sorts of ways.
The wizards of Harua succeeded; they successfully transferred the entire magical kingdom of Harua to the world of Abel.
They were just a little bit more successful.
This legendary teleportation magic, while successfully transporting Harua, also tore the surrounding southern kingdoms, such as the Churt Peninsula, to pieces, and sent them all to Abel, replacing some of Abel's original landmasses.
This included Enser, Samarachi, and several other miscellaneous lands. Worse still, the teleportation wasn't a geographical mapping teleportation at all. Upon arriving in Abel, everyone discovered that these regions were no longer connected as before, but had become countless enclaves scattered across the globe.
Otherwise, why would people in some places insist on burning all wizards at the stake? Wizards possess ample knowledge, yet their impulsiveness is off the charts; they're always ready to unleash a crazy, suicidal act while ensuring their own survival. No one else could possibly pull off something so utterly audacious.
Of course, this is getting off-topic.
In short, after all this haphazard travel, a small number of orcs, elves, and other native Toril creatures who had been teleported to the land of Abel arrived in the new world in a rather confused state. However, due to the unique nature of the Abel world, they couldn't bring their original gods and beliefs with them. Both the dragons and the remaining Dawn Titans and giants regarded them as heretics.
These creatures have also had a very difficult time over the past decade or so.
Orcs fared relatively better, using their savage physiques to carve out a path and their powerful reproductive abilities to form small settlements in certain areas.
The elves were almost entirely hunted down. Only a small number escaped into the underground. It is said that because there is very little competition in Abel's underground, making it a relatively untapped market, they have developed quite well. Now, several underground cities have formed in Abel's Underdark, where drow elves and their surface relatives live together peacefully and harmoniously.
Just as Ivy Beatrice was staring at the green creature in the crystal ball, unsure of what kind of species it was, the green creature in the crystal ball spoke first.
"So you are the real Gurulos."
Burn Scar stared at Gululos in the communication crystal ball and said, "Then who did I kill in the temple?"
