Chapter 357: Take Action After the Situation Stabilizes
"We must find that guy and not let him escape." One of the soldiers said seriously.
Su Ming knew that things were becoming more complicated. He had to find opportunities during this intense search to ensure his escape.
At this moment, the noise outside suddenly weakened, as if someone was gradually leaving. Su Ming felt a slight sense of relief, realizing that this might be an opportunity to escape.
"I must seize this opportunity!" he muttered to himself, gently pushed open the door and looked outside.
Su Ming was surprised by the silence outside, but he knew danger was still lurking around. He walked out of the cave cautiously and looked around for A Ling.
"A Ling, where are you?" he called softly, praying silently in his heart.
In this unfamiliar area, Su Ming felt lonely and helpless, but he knew that he must not give up. For A Ling, he had to continue searching, looking for any possible clues.
A faint response seemed to come from not far away. Su Ming was delighted and immediately ran towards the sound.
"A Ling!" he shouted loudly and walked quickly towards the direction where the voice came from.
Finally, he spotted Ah Ling in a secluded corner. A hint of nervousness and worry crossed her face. Su Ming's heart surged with joy, and he quickly ran towards her.
"Are you okay?" Su Ming asked with concern, his eyes showing care.
"I'm fine, but you have to be careful." A Ling's voice was filled with urgency. "There might be pursuers outside."
Su Ming nodded, feeling a little relieved that Ah Ling was safe. "We must leave here and find a safe place."
Ah Ling nodded silently, a determined light flashing in her eyes. They knew that the chance of escaping was getting smaller and smaller, and they had to seize the time.
"I have a place where I can hide temporarily." A Ling said quickly, as if she had already made a plan.
"Okay, let's go." Su Ming said without hesitation.
His heart was filled with hope, as he knew that only when they found a safe place could they plan their next move.
Ah Ling quickly led Su Ming through a weed-covered path. It was quiet, with only a gentle breeze to blow. Su Ming's heart tensed, but at the same time, he felt a sense of comfort. Ah Ling's presence made him feel less alone.
"This place is where I hid before. It should be relatively safe." A Ling said in a low voice, with tension in her eyes.
They came to a secluded corner hidden by a large tree, where there was a small door leading to a basement. Ah Ling pushed the door open and motioned Su Ming to go in first.
"It's very small in here, but we can temporarily avoid pursuers." A Ling explained softly.
Su Ming nodded and quickly walked in. The surroundings were dark and damp, but this gave him a sense of security. He knew that as long as he could take refuge here temporarily, he could replan his next move.
Ah Ling followed in, closed the door, and made sure the surroundings were safe. The two of them stayed quietly in the dark basement, and the air was filled with a damp smell.
"We need to make a plan and find a way to leave here." A Ling said, and the tension on her face seemed to ease a little.
"I just met Li Wei. He's looking for us." Su Ming said quickly, "We need to meet up with him and find a safer place together."
A Ling's eyes flashed with anticipation, but then a bit of worry came over her: "Then what should we do now? The situation outside is complicated, we can't act rashly."
"We have to wait and see what's going on outside." Su Ming said, thinking to himself, "If we can determine Li Wei's location, we can find a chance to reunite with him."
Just then, hurried footsteps could be heard outside, as if soldiers were searching the area. Su Ming and A Ling's hearts raced, and they stared at each other, remaining silent in tacit agreement.
"We must remain calm." Su Ming whispered, feeling a sense of urgency in his heart.
The noises outside gradually approached, and Su Ming could hear the soldiers' conversation. He held his breath, trying not to make any sound.
"Hurry, keep searching!" one of the soldiers ordered, his voice full of nervousness.
Ah Ling clenched her fists nervously, her eyes showing anxiety. Su Ming soothed her with his eyes, trying to remain calm and wait for any movement outside.
A few minutes later, the soldiers' voices faded away, and Su Ming and A Ling finally breathed a sigh of relief. The silence outside made them feel a little relieved.
"We have to find Li Wei as soon as possible." A Ling whispered, the anxiety on her face reappearing.
"I'll find a way to contact him." Su Ming nodded and began to think about how to get the information.
As they were discussing this, A Ling's phone suddenly vibrated. Their hearts tightened, and they quickly lowered their voices to avoid being discovered.
"Who sent it?" Su Ming asked nervously.
Ah Ling quickly checked her phone, her expression changing slightly: "It's from Li Wei. He said there's new news!"
"Hurry, tell me!" Su Ming couldn't wait.
"He found a safe place and wanted us to rush over, but there are still soldiers patrolling outside." A Ling said quickly.
Hope instantly ignited in Su Ming's heart, but it was immediately overshadowed by worry: "We must ensure safety and not act rashly."
"I agree." A Ling nodded, her eyes flashing with determination. "We need to split up and find a safer route."
"Are you sure it's safe to do this?" Su Ming hesitated a little, worried about A Ling's safety.
"This is the only way." A Ling said firmly, "I will try my best to avoid patrolling soldiers and ensure my safety."
Su Ming took a deep breath. Although he felt uneasy, he knew Ah Ling's determination. He finally nodded, "Okay, let's do this."
"Let's wait here and take action after the situation outside stabilizes." A Ling whispered, trying to keep herself calm.
Time slowly slipped by, and Su Ming's heart was like a turmoil, a mixture of anxiety and anticipation. He would often approach the door, carefully observing the movements outside, silently praying in his heart that everything would go smoothly.
Finally, the noise outside gradually subsided, and it seemed that the patrolling soldiers had left. A Ling's phone vibrated again. She quickly checked the message, a hint of excitement on her face.
"Li Wei said we can set off now, let's hurry!" she said excitedly.
"Okay, follow me." Su Ming took A Ling to the small door without hesitation.
They quietly pushed open the door, and the sunlight outside cast warm rays through the treetops, bringing a sense of comfort to people's hearts.
Su Ming and A Ling quickly and carefully followed the previous path, their hearts filled with anticipation and nervousness. They knew that only by successfully reuniting with Li Wei could they ensure their safety.
