Chapter 7 [The First King, the Ultimate Lifeform Kars]
Chapter 7 [The First King, the Ultimate Lifeform Kars]
The morning after the thunderstorm was filled with the fresh scent of damp earth after the rain.
Xu had barely slept all night, and the moment the power was restored, he immediately recalibrated all the parameters of "Anthill".
He breathed a long sigh of relief when he saw the temperature and humidity readings inside the eco-box finally stabilize at the preset values, and leaned against the cold glass.
After a short rest, he immediately immersed his consciousness in the primordial spores surveying their own world.
A few fern seedlings in the upper forest fell in the wind and rain, but most survived. The moon spores sown in the black soil had a faint scent, but they did not die out.
The middle layer of the cave has a stable structure, while the bottom layer is a dark lake... In the deepest part of the dark lake, in a silent darkness, an insect egg is emitting a unique light.
It was a silver worm egg, but it was completely different.
On the originally pure silver-white eggshell of the Silver Wanderer Clan, there were very conspicuous strands of deep purplish-black patterns.
Silver and purple light flowed slowly across the surface of the eggshell, merging together to form a naturally formed miniature nebula.
Perhaps one could even see that inside the eggshell, there are characteristics belonging to the Moon Rot and Silver Wanderer races, where life coexists and merges in a wondrous way.
"Lightning strike...power outage, chaos..."
According to the records attached to the primordial spores, "Last night's natural disaster inadvertently completed a miraculous fusion."
This mutated egg, born between the apocalypse and rebirth, may be the key to saving "Antheraea" and even himself.
"Well then, let me see your ingredients..."
Xu also mobilized the primordial spores to lift the precious egg from the bottom of the dark lake, through layers of structure, and finally place it in a crystal cave in the middle layer that he had completely isolated.
This is a natural laboratory.
"Let me see what you really are."
With anticipation in his eyes, Xu Ye issued instructions to the quarantined area.
Time flow speed, accelerated ten thousand times!
One second in the real world is equivalent to several days and nights inside the cave.
Within minutes, the mutated insect egg reached its peak of light, and fine cracks appeared on its shell.
"Crack." The eggshell split open completely.
What flowed out was not any insect larvae as one might have expected.
It was a strange life form that flowed and had the texture of liquid metal.
It is only about the size of a grain of rice, has no fixed shape, and slowly crawls on the ground.
Deep purple life energy pulsates steadily at its core, while silvery-white material energy constitutes its ever-changing body.
It seems to have a strong desire to explore everything around it.
As it flowed past a piece of ore containing trace amounts of metal, Xu witnessed what was likely a scene he would never forget.
It wraps the ore with its body.
Soon, the ore was broken down into countless shimmering particles of light at a speed visible to the naked eye, and merged into its body.
Then it crawled to a tiny fungus growing from a crack in the rock and decomposed and absorbed it in the same way.
The next moment, the liquid metal began to surge.
The silver particles representing minerals and the purple particles representing fungi are rearranged and combined within its body.
A few seconds later, an activated metal particle, smaller than a grain of sand, shimmering with a metallic luster and emitting a faint life force, was imprinted from its body.
"Holy crap, is my face pale again? Golden Legend?" Xu Ye's mind went blank. Had he just pulled out an ultimate creature?
This is not a simple process of devouring and reproducing; it is deconstruction, analysis, and re-creation.
After completing this creation, the liquid metal did not replicate itself or create similar entities as Xu Ye had anticipated, thus breaking through the previously established rules.
It stopped.
It hovered beside the activated metal it had created, its surface rippling as if it were... observing?
Thinking?
Through the primordial spores, a wave of energy, distinct from the faint yet incredibly pure collective consciousness of the Moon Rot and Silver Wanderer clans, was emanating from this small life form.
That was the budding of a primitive, independent "individual consciousness".
It is not a biological machine that only performs instincts; it is "Adam" and "Pangu".
I am the first and only "me" in this entirely new race.
It looked up at the great void that connected the three worlds and saw the fake moon that simulated moonlight.
Reflection: This world...
"Kaz..."
Xu Ye subconsciously gave this unique existence a name.
The moment he finished naming it, something within Kaz seemed to be stirred.
Some fragmented, ancient images began to emerge in its independent consciousness and were simultaneously perceived by Xu.
Those are fragments of memory buried deep within our genes.
When the world was still in chaos, there existed two great ancient gods.
One is the "Mother of Purple," who controls life and the soul; Her kingdom is an endless forest.
One is the "Father of Silver," who forges matter and energy; His domain is the underground mineral veins.
A war known as the "Primordial Conflict" erupted among the ancient gods, ultimately leading to the collapse of their divine kingdoms and their mutual annihilation.
[Until the divine lightning of creation struck, forging and fusing the life essence of the "Mother of Purple" and the material core of the "Father of Silver" amidst destruction.]
And so, I was born.
I am Kars, the successor of the old gods and the founder of a new era.
This epic woven from genetic memory grants "Moon Fury" and "Silver Game" immortality in another way.
They became the deities of this new species, and their struggles and fusion transformed into the innate talent of this first Karz—the supreme skill of synergistically utilizing life and matter.
Xu Ye stood outside the eco-box, silently digesting this new myth, his heart filled with surging emotions.
He had been struggling with how to guide those microscopic life forms that only act on instinct.
But now, a being with independent consciousness, capable of understanding and growth, has appeared before us.
His gaze shifted from Anthill to his own body, which had become emaciated due to illness.
His initial idea was to create a microscopic army that could break down cancer cells.
But now, he has a grander and more promising plan.
A race that only knows how to obey is a tool race with a fixed upper limit.
A civilization capable of giving birth to leaders, possessing self-will, and even so-called heroes has an unlimited future.
This "original one" is the key to unlocking all of this.
I once came up with a viewpoint from who-knows-where: a wise king is always the best civilization mechanism, and with such a race with infinite possibilities right in front of us, why not use it?
How about we try something?
