Transformers: Leader's Proof - Fragile, but Hard to Kill

Chapter 100 Dead Leg! Run!

Chapter 100 Dead Leg! Run!

"Whoosh...buzz?" Bumblebee asked Rosa.

“Yes, the genes can be restored, but it takes time. I have to wait for myself to recover slowly…” Rosa said, just as she took her hand out of the bucket and was about to stretch it out into the sun.

Just as her hand was about to enter the sunlight, Optimus Prime swiftly grabbed it and pulled the entire machine back.

"It's just a little hot, let's put the core back in. I just wanted to try out when I could withstand the sun." Rosa explained even as she was being pulled along. Hearing this, the ambulance driver immediately grabbed a can of gasoline and handed it to Rosa.

Rosa was silent for a moment...

"Not core heat, but thanks anyway." With that, he opened the can and drank it all in one gulp.

The ambulance pondered for a moment, then quietly asked Agent Fuller if a cold storage room could be built, because she remembered that Rosa was better suited to a cold place.

Giving her a cold storage room will also help her recover.

Agent Fuller agreed with the idea and contacted his subordinates to prepare the materials. Construction would begin tomorrow, and the building would be located on the side of the hall, allowing direct access to the hall at other times.

Since it was sunny outside and Rosa couldn't go out, everyone took the opportunity to introduce her to Sky Magnus and explain what had happened at Tiger's place.

They tacitly avoided mentioning Rosa's attack on their own people, nor did they mention Rosa's feat of "almost eating all the Decepticons."

These were only spoken to Optimus Prime, their leader, in private. Some things required the leader's decision. Optimus Prime listened in silence for a while and did not say anything more.

In a way, the Decepticons really brought this upon themselves. Why did they give her that Dark Super-Energy entity for no reason?

It seems Rosa has successfully shifted the blame to the Dark Super-Energy Beings. Their solvers are pure and obedient, so their actions couldn't have been due to the bloodthirsty nature of their code itself, but rather to external interference.

Yes, it must be.

Rosa doesn't know about this.

However, their existing equipment seemed to be quite outdated, so Rosa resolutely took on the task of fixing the equipment. Since everyone had nothing else to do, they discussed their next goal.

That night, Agent Fuller brought Optimus Prime an all-terrain expedition vehicle that they were still testing, as the original large truck was no longer usable due to its changed size.

This vehicle will now serve as Optimus Prime's new vehicle form.

Rosa then chose a warehouse as a temporary room to rest, as she had only recently entered the new base and lacked many basic facilities, such as a charging bed.

Other Autobots can only transform into vehicles and enter a shutdown, hibernation, and charging mode. This hibernation state is definitely not as comfortable as a charging bed, but there's no other way.

That's better than just lying on the ground to sleep, but Rosa is different.

After repeatedly confirming with the ambulance and Agent Fuller that the warehouse ceiling could indeed support her weight, she chose to hang upside down from the ceiling like a bat, wrapping herself in her wings to sleep.

While it's generally better to sleep lying down, it's also nice to occasionally revert to a more natural way of sleeping.

Rosa buried her head in her wings and fell asleep... but everyone seemed to have forgotten one thing: she might not be able to leave her warehouse the next day.

To get to the base lobby, you first need to pass through an open area, and during the day... there's sunlight... Her armor is with the Decepticons; it was probably stolen while they were doing research, and they haven't made a new one yet.

But there is also good news.

-

The next day, Rosa woke up at the same time as usual, and the first thing she discovered was that some of her Cybertronian genes had gradually returned.

The most obvious change is that there is a bit of blue at the bottom of the optical mirror. Now her optical mirror and solver are both blue-purple gradient colors.

She was about to share the good news with others, but froze the moment she was about to open the door...

Is she able to go out now?

She squatted by the door, pinching her chin as she thought, and finally decided to try opening it a crack.

After the warehouse door was opened slightly, she wagged her tail, held her breath, and stared intently at her hand, slowly getting closer to the sunlight outside.

When the sunlight shone on his hand, the white mechanical hand with black joints did not smoke or smell of burning.

It's just the normal, slight warmth that comes from sunlight shining on something.

Rosa was pleasantly surprised. After tentatively venturing out and finding nothing amiss, she happily stepped into the sunlight.

Not sensing much of a problem, she decided to take a chance and went to the lobby by herself.

However... after walking a short distance, Rosa gradually became weaker... perhaps because of the sunlight, or perhaps because she had not fully recovered.

This feeling of weakness was similar to the fatigue she had experienced while under the sun. She hadn't fully recovered yet, so it was normal for the weakness to be even stronger. She didn't take it seriously.

But as she walked, she realized something was wrong... The weakness became more and more obvious, and each step she took was weaker than the last, and her steps gradually became unsteady.

Damn it! Hurry up and move!

She struggled to support her weak legs, but the increasing weakness caused them to tremble and almost give way, almost causing her to fall straight down. Fortunately, she managed to support herself with her hands and at least didn't fall.

She bent her knees to the side and put her hands in front of her to support her body, trying to use her hands and the strength of her bent thighs to help herself get up.

But she couldn't stand up anymore... This time, she couldn't even support her body with her hands. Her strength was being exhausted at an alarming rate, and as her hands went limp, her body collapsed...

It felt like someone had pulled me back.

Um... Bumblebee?

Bumblebee left the room a little later than Rosa. He saw Rosa come out of the warehouse and was startled by the sunlight, but when he found that she did not spontaneously combust, he put the core back down.

But as she walked, she realized something was wrong. Rosa seemed to be walking slower and slower, and even looked increasingly strained... because her legs were trembling...

He watched as she nearly fell and ended up sitting on the ground, and Bumblebee realized something was wrong.

When he rushed over and got to her, Rosa had completely collapsed.

He immediately grabbed her shoulders with one hand and slipped the other under her knees, scooped her up in his arms, and sprinted towards the nearest dark corner of the base's main hall.

Everyone at the base was busy—ambulances and Raffi—trying to calibrate the fluctuations in the land bridge's return path.

Partition and Arcee were checking the energy signal fluctuations in various locations, while Jack and Skyward were somewhere else, probably exploring the old base ruins to see if anything remained.

Optimus Prime... is probably out on reconnaissance.

When Bumblebee rushed in carrying Rosa, the ambulance was surprised to see him carrying Rosa inside.

My first instinct was to ask Bumblebee, "When did you guys start whispering to each other like that?" Then I suddenly realized something was wrong.

It's so sunny outside, how did Rosa get here? Why does she look so weak?

The incident ended with the ambulance driver angrily berating Rosa for her 'reckless' behavior, and the other machines and a few humans trying to mediate.
