Located in the heart of Bergopelli, the Bergopelli Palace has been the residence of successive popes since the 14th century and has undergone several renovations over the centuries. Containing chapels, halls, and various rooms, it is the central hub of the Church of the Enlightenment. The palace boasts a vast collection of sculptures, frescoes, and masterpieces—its artistic collection rivals that of the world's most renowned museums.
Due to the time difference, 08:31 in Daisho time is 15:30 in Bergoperi time.
As usual, Pope Clement III was praying alone to the Lord in the Meditation Room of the Bergopelli Palace.
The Meditation Hall is the Pope's private prayer room. It's a spacious rectangular hall, adorned with portraits of past popes. The entire hall is lavishly decorated, and the ceiling features a famous, massive fresco, "The Gates of Paradise." In this painting, the Son of God opens the gates of Paradise, looking mercifully upon the world, with countless saints and angels standing beside him. This is a classic work by the renowned painter Christopher Ruiz. At the front of the hall is a huge stained-glass window, its center featuring a large crown motif. The surrounding walls are also decorated with numerous icons and sculptures.
The hall floor was covered with a thick wool carpet, and there were dedicated desks and chairs. Generally, apart from the Pope himself and a few cleaning staff, no one else was allowed to enter.
At this moment, Pope Clement III sat quietly before a huge statue of the Son of God hanging in the center of the hall, his hands clasped in front of his chest, praying silently.
Pope Clement III, whose real name is Paulon Helmut Schmidt, has been in office for twelve years. Born in Holstein, he was declared the new Pope of the Church of Apocalypse in March 2005, taking the name Clement as his title.
Compared to the old-school pope Pius IV, who consistently upheld the traditions of the Church of Revelation, Clement III has always presented himself as a reformer of the Church of Revelation.
