Chapter 57 Zombie World - 2
Chapter 57 Zombie World - 2
Slowly, the zombie driver stopped roaring, and its gray eyes gradually turned an eerie red.
Seeing this, the zombie Okoye asked, "Where is that thing?"
Zombie driver: "It was taken by Marvel Girl, Iron Heart, and Hawkeye II."
"Useless!" the zombie Okoye roared, swinging his spear and piercing the driver's head.
After killing the zombie pilot, the zombie Okoye closed her eyes, clasped her hands together, and silently prayed before stepping out of the fighter jet.
At that moment, the horde of zombies directly in front of the Quinjet moved to the sides, and Hawkeye Clint Barton, a zombie carrying a longbow, a quiver, and dressed in tattered clothes, walked over.
Zombie Okoye: "Avenger, the Queen has sent you a gift through me. Offer your loyalty, become the Queen's right-hand man, become her servant!"
The hunched-over zombie Eagle Eyes slowly straightened his back, and his gray eyes were gradually replaced by an eerie red.
A few seconds later, the zombie Hawkeye was taken control. The first thing he did was not to express his loyalty, but to quickly draw an arrow from his quiver, nock it on his bow, pull the bowstring taut with his right hand, aim at the spot where Vega had disappeared, and release the bowstring.
Whoosh! The arrow streaked across the empty sky, hitting nothing.
The zombie Okoye asked in bewilderment, "What are you doing?!"
Zombie Hawkeye: "There were living people there just now."
Upon hearing this, the zombie Okoye and the other Wakanda zombies all looked up at the sky, but they saw nothing.
Zombie Okoye: "There's no one there."
Zombie Eagle Eye: "The living person vanished into thin air there; he didn't leave."
The zombie Okoye repeated impatiently, "There's no one there!"
Zombie Hawkeye repeated his words again, and seeing his resolute attitude, Zombie Okoye said, "If there's no one there, you will be punished by the Queen!"
After saying that, she closed her eyes again to pray. A dozen seconds later, she opened her even more eerie red eyes and looked up at the sky. This time she saw the mirror space and Vega, who had a solemn expression, wore golden armor, and had golden wings burning with flames on his back.
"Enemy! Attack!" the zombie Okoye roared, as she hurled her vibranium spear at Vega with all her might.
The zombie eagle eye didn't move. He couldn't see the enemy, and he had already tried attacking, but it was ineffective.
His arrows were hard to replenish, and he didn't want to waste them.
The Wakanda zombies couldn't see the enemy either, but when their leader gave the order, they began to attack.
Vega remained motionless in the mirror space, wanting to see if the vibranium spear, along with the miscellaneous melee weapons and energy beams, could penetrate space and attack him.
As he expected, all the attacks missed.
Undeterred, the zombie Okoye ran over, picked up the vibranium spear that had fallen to the ground, and hurled it at Vega once more.
The spear was used in vain once again, and the zombie Okoye was furious, unleashing a string of profanities at Vega that no human could understand.
After a few minutes of repetitive profanity, seeing that Vega remained unmoved, the zombie Okoye closed her eyes once again in prayer, begging the great Queen of the Dead to grant her more power so that she could kill that rat-like enemy.
Vega continued to wait, wanting to see how much power Wanda from this universe could pour in, in order to judge how strong she was.
As the zombie Okoye prayed, eerie red patterns began to appear on her jet-black skin.
The red lines became increasingly dense, and cracks began to appear on her body. The immense pain caused her to tremble uncontrollably, and her stiff facial features began to distort.
Two minutes later, the zombie Okoye stopped praying. Enveloped in an eerie red light, she roared and tore open a spatial rift with her bare hands before rushing into the mirror space alone.
"Die, you damned reptile!" the zombie Okoye roared, raising his hands above his head, and two beams of red energy shot out from his palms toward Vega.
Vega remained motionless, letting the beam of light strike his armor.
The armor remained completely undamaged; instead, it reflected the red beam of light back along its original path.
The zombie Okoye was clearly not very bright; she didn't even realize something was wrong and just kept maintaining her energy output, fighting against herself.
A minute later, her energy was depleted and she went silent, then was blasted into a cloud of blood mist by the counterattacking energy.
After waiting for a while and seeing that the blood mist did not gather, Vega realized that the zombie Okoye was really dead.
Vega frowned. The energy Wanda was channeling was minimal. Was it because Wanda herself was limited in strength, or because the zombie Okoye couldn't withstand more power?
With a wave of his hand, Vega cleansed away the blood mist and debris. He looked outside and saw the Wakanda zombies standing there, staring blankly at the spot where the zombie Okoye had disappeared, while the zombie Hawkeye was slowly moving away among the zombie horde.
"Heh, it seems that even if you become a zombie, the brainless are still brainless, and the smart are still smart." Vega shook his head and stepped out of the mirror space. Before the zombies could attack him, hundreds of blazing white flames shot out from his wings.
These beams of light struck the zombies in the blink of an eye, instantly incinerating them into the most basic particles.
One zombie survived the burn, and that was the zombie Hawkeye.
A purifying aura descended upon him, the red light in his eyes vanished instantly, and the control was released.
While he was stunned, Vega flashed in front of him, raised his right hand and placed it on his shoulder. A phoenix phantom appeared behind Vega, and the next moment, accompanied by a loud phoenix cry, crimson flames enveloped the zombie Hawkeye.
Twenty seconds later the flames went out, and the calm and reliable Hawkeye Clint Barton returned.
Hawkeye slumped to the ground, gasping for air, as everything that had happened since he became a zombie flashed through his mind.
The thought of those he had bitten and devoured turned his face deathly pale, and he uncontrollably bent over, retching: "Ugh, gagging... gagging..."
His stomach was filled with acid after his body was reshaped. The more he vomited, the more uncomfortable he felt. Soon, his body activated its self-protection mode, forcibly calming him down.
"Cough cough, thank you, thank you for saving me." Hawkeye struggled to his feet and bowed deeply to Vega to express his gratitude.
"I saved you only because you're the first acquaintance I encountered," Vega said, casting a life-restoring spell on Hawkeye before asking, "Barton, can you tell me what's happening in this world?"
Hawkeye astutely grasped the key point in Vega's words: "This world?"
