Chapter 51 My House
Chapter 51 My House
After hugging for a while, it wasn't anyone's emotions that gave out first.
It's a house.
The metal plate overhead, already cracked from the impact, finally shattered with a soft "crack" and a piece fell down. The fragment hit the doorframe of the training room next door, making a soft but jarring sound.
Yin Vector lifted his head from Zhen Tianzun's arms, glanced up, then around, and finally gave a sincere evaluation.
"Alright, it seems this place doesn't want us to keep standing here expressing our feelings."
Zhen Tianzun looked down at her, his arm finally slowly loosening its grip, his tone still calm and even.
"Which optical lens of yours could tell I was being sentimental just now?"
"Then keep being stubborn." The vector force led him toward the repair pod. "Anyway, this room is practically admitting it for you."
The underground training room was sturdier than the upper level; the main support pillar wasn't completely damaged, and the repair pod was still usable. She decided to skip the formalities and just shove the machine inside. Zhen Tianzun probably knew this time that continuing to act arrogantly was pointless, so he shrugged and went into the pod anyway.
The repair fluid slowly rose, and the cold white light reflected off the cabin wall, illuminating his old and new wounds clearly.
The vector stood outside, staring at the parameters for a while. The agitation in the fire seed after the battle had subsided.
She looked down at her hands.
There was still some energy liquid left on the edge of the left arm armor, and the joints were slightly warm from the intense bursts of energy just now.
She was standing there lost in thought when the Heavenly Venerable in the repair pod suddenly spoke.
"Don't go upstairs."
Yin Vector snapped out of his daze and looked up at him: "I know the top collapsed."
"That's not it." Zhen Tianzun looked at her. "It's because you're like this right now, so don't act rashly."
Seeing that he was clearly not in much better shape inside the cabin, Yin Vector swallowed back the words he wanted to say to him and simply said, "I won't touch anything. I'll deal with those things outside first; we can't let them continue to lie at the door and stink."
Zhen Tianzun remained silent, which was taken as tacit agreement.
-
The house is basically in ruins.
It wasn't until a single drone cleared the wreckage to one side that they truly realized the appalling state the attack had left their dwelling in.
Half of the outer wall collapsed, and the area in front of the door was almost completely cratered. Cracks were everywhere along the edges of the building. The second floor was even worse; half of it had collapsed. The once tidy study was half overturned by the impact, with document shelves lying on the ground, metal pages and data boards scattered everywhere, some even crushed.
She stood at the top of the stairs, looking at the mess, and remained silent for two seconds.
Then she slowly buried her face in her hands for a moment: "Now I really can't stay here anymore."
She had originally thought that even if it was badly damaged, a simple repair might be enough to last her a few more days.
But looking at it now, let alone surviving, if I were to continue living here, I'd probably be crushed to death by the ceiling halfway through my sleep. Life is hard enough as it is; there's no need to add this absurd way of dying to it.
She lowered her head and opened her terminal, first contacting a nearby repair team that could handle emergency lockdowns and wreckage recovery, then switching between several interfaces to see if she could rent a place to stay for the time being.
Before I could even see two results, the frequency band lit up first.
It is a sound wave.
The vector finger paused for a moment before clicking.
[High-intensity combat residue detected.]
The residence was damaged.
Yin Vector stared at those two sentences, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
She didn't even need to ask how the other person knew.
This machine's intelligence and monitoring network is so vast that it could probably even glance at which brick outside her house cracks. Normally, this kind of silent, undetected control would be enough to send chills down her spine. But today, just looking at those two lines of text, she inexplicably didn't feel so bothered.
She replied: "Still alive."
After pausing, I added another one.
The house is indeed ruined.
The other side responded very quickly this time.
Temporary accommodation may be provided.
The vector stared at that line of text, and the entire machine froze for a few seconds.
She had considered the possibility of taking sides, but this was a sound wave.
He had previously offered reminders, compensation, and help to some extent, but that was more of a quiet correction and compensation, unlike what he said now.
This makes his stance clear.
Her fingertip hovered over the screen, and she replied after two seconds: 【Are you serious?】
There was still no extra setup over there.
【Yes. 】
And then there was another one.
[The address will be sent later.]
The next one is even more straightforward.
[You can move in immediately if needed.]
Looking at those three sentences, Yin Xiang suddenly didn't know whether to first marvel at his consistent style or at how this guy could actually make the sidelines so quiet and thorough.
She was staring at the interface when suddenly Zhen Tianzun's voice came from behind her.
"Who?"
The vector pointer turned back and saw that the transparent bulkhead on the repair pod had already descended. The Heavenly Emperor, having probably stabilized its parameters somewhat, grew impatient and came out on its own.
...This machine is really incompatible with the repair bay.
She frowned and walked over: "Why are you out again?"
"That's enough." Zhen Tianzun glanced at her terminal. "Who's looking for you?"
I didn't hide the vector; I just showed him the interface directly.
After Zhen Tianzun finished reading, the optical mirror blinked slowly: "Sound wave."
"Um."
"He invited you to stay at his place?"
"To be precise, it was us." Vector retrieved the terminal. "And it was he who brought it up."
Zhen Tianzun did not speak immediately.
He certainly understood what this meant.
A machine like Soundwave doesn't make meaningless statements. Since he's already provided accommodation, it's not just about giving them a temporary place to stay; it's about clearly telling them his stance on the matter.
The vector looked at him: "What do you think?"
Zhen Tianzun glanced at her, and his first words were, as expected, "I'm not going."
Pointer vector: "..."
She knew it.
"What's the reason?"
"They don't have the habit of seeking refuge in other people's territory."
"That's not a habit, that's just being stubborn."
Zhen Tianzun said calmly, "I have a backup place to stay."
This time, the vector was taken aback.
"Do you have a spare place to stay?"
Her words were completely heartfelt, and she even raised her voice a little.
Zhen Tianzun looked at her, his eyebrows slightly raised: "What kind of expression is that?"
"It's amazing how the wealthy are; life is full of surprises," Vector said sincerely. "I originally thought that someone like you would at most build a couple more floors for the armory, but I didn't expect you to even have a spare house."
Zhen Tianzun: "..."
He probably wanted to say something, but in the end he just gave a low "hmm" and didn't waste too much time on the matter with her.
"It's not far from here, the security is sufficient, and the basic facilities are complete."
Upon hearing this, Yin Vector first breathed a sigh of relief, then couldn't help but glance at him a few more times.
Why haven't you mentioned this before?
"You've never blown up a house like this before."
Okay, reasonable, annoying, but I really can't find fault with it.
However, having the option of a backup place to stay at least gave me some peace of mind.
She looked down at the terminal again, thought for a moment, and replied to the sound wave.
【Thanks.】
We have other places to stay here.
She paused for a moment, then carefully added another line.
I understand what you mean.
There was silence for a few seconds.
He then replied: 【Received.】
And then there was another one.
The address is still reserved.
As Yin Zongxiang looked at that sentence, a slight tremor ran through his heart.
This is a sound wave.
While he might seem a bit unreasonable at times, he doesn't press you, doesn't force you to choose now, and doesn't try to turn good intentions into a burden. He simply leaves the door open, showing you that the path is here, and it's up to you whether you choose to come or not.
She typed: 【Okay.】
After it finished transmitting, the frequency band quieted down.
Zhen Tianzun stood beside her, his pale blue optical lens briefly touching her terminal, and said in a low voice, "He's standing here with us."
"Hmm." Vector closed the interface. "And he's standing pretty firmly."
"Aren't you surprised?"
"A little." She thought for a moment and decided to tell the truth, "but it wasn't particularly surprising. After all, he wasn't entirely on the other side before."
Zhen Tianzun looked at her and suddenly said, "Your attitude towards him is much softer than before."
The phrase "vector pointing upwards" made me laugh.
"What else could I do? He offered me a place to stay, and I was supposed to rush over and yell at him?"
"You've done it before, haven't you?"
"...How exactly do you evaluate me?"
"truth."
The vector rolled its eyes, too lazy to pay attention to him.
However, she herself knew that Zhen Tianzun was also wrong. Her attitude towards sound waves was indeed different from the beginning. What happened afterward was enough to reshuffle many positions and judgments.
Just then, she heard the sound of metal being dragged outside; the emergency repair and recovery team she had just contacted had arrived.
Several construction machines were parked outside the gate, looking at the ruins before them. The lead machine remained silent for several seconds before cautiously speaking, "This area... is for debris recovery and containment of dangerous landslides, right?"
Vector nodded: "Yes. Don't move anything on the second floor. First, seal off the dangerous parts, drag away the wreckage, and clean up as much of the traces on the outside as possible."
The machine looked again at the damaged wreckage and the large area of debris that had been blown apart on the ground, and its optical scope seemed to daze for a moment: "You guys... were attacked?"
Yin Xiang's expression remained unchanged: "You can think of it as a few leaky machines coming to their doom."
other side:"……"
He shouldn't ask questions he shouldn't ask.
The repair team wisely refrained from pursuing the matter further and began working diligently. Cutting, recycling, setting up temporary supports, and marking hazardous areas were all carried out systematically.
After standing to the side and watching for a while, Yin Xiang suddenly realized that he was actually a little tired and empty.
After the battle, the high-speed return, the burst of new abilities, and the emotional breakdown, he still had to endure the emptiness of dealing with the aftermath.
Zhen Tianzun probably figured it out too, and turned his head to say, "I'll go and get access to the backup accommodations."
She hesitated for a moment before replying, "Okay, then I'll go upstairs and collect some usable stuff. Data, terminals, those weapon parts of yours that I find too heavy to even look at, and..."
She paused for a moment.
"What else?"
"And then there's my work." She shook the terminal helplessly. "Those documents from Red Spider can't just be buried in the rubble."
Zhen Tianzun looked at her for two seconds, and finally only gave a single comment.
"You really know how to create trouble for yourself."
"Likewise. If you hadn't gotten into so many fights, I wouldn't be scavenging for a living in the ruins right now."
After she finished speaking, she turned around and went upstairs.
The situation upstairs was even worse than when she had first glanced at it; there wasn't much she could take intact. She packed the still-readable data board, several important documents, her spare components, and frequently used tools into a box, then went to Zhen Tianzun's place to get some necessities. She couldn't really tell the difference between expensive and cheap items; she could only rely on her intuition to choose.
Halfway through moving it, she suddenly looked down and saw a small piece of metal with a cracked edge pressed against the corner of the desk.
She had seen that thing before; it was usually just casually left lying around, completely inconspicuous.
She picked it up, looked at it for two seconds, and then casually stuffed it into the box.
When she came down again carrying a pile of things, Zhen Tianzun glanced at the inscription on the top and his brow twitched slightly: "You even brought this?"
The vector looked down and asked, "What, is this important?"
"……generally."
"That's what makes it important." She put the things aside. "If you really thought it was just so-so, you wouldn't have had that expression just now."
Zhen Tianzun: "Your observation skills are getting more and more annoying."
"Thank you for the compliment."
By the time the recycling work outside was almost finished, it was already quite dark.
The accommodations still look unsightly, but the most glaring debris and dangerous landslides have been dealt with first. The remaining repairs can't be done in an hour or two; they'll have to be done gradually later.
Yin Xiang stood at the door, looking at the house that was no longer the same as before, and remained silent for a while.
She didn't actually live here for very long—a negligible amount compared to the lifespan of a Cybertronian.
She didn't know when it started, but this place had become a place she could return to. Now that it had suddenly been turned into this, she couldn't say she felt good.
Zhen Tianzun walked to her side, glanced ahead, and said simply but firmly, "We'll fix it later."
Yin Xiang turned his head to look at him: "You sound like you're talking about buying another cannon."
"almost."
"...You guys are so annoying with your money."
Zhen Tianzun gave a soft hum, then reached out and took half of the item from her hand.
The vector wanted to tell him not to move, but seeing that although he was injured, he was indeed much more stable than before, so he didn't argue with him anymore.
She was momentarily dazed, realizing how absurd today had been.
The house was smashed and people were almost killed. Soundwave took the initiative to give them his address.
Cybertron is getting more and more outrageous every day.
She exhaled a breath of exhaustion: "Let's go, Fuji."
Zhen Tianzun looked at her and said, "What are you yelling about again?"
"truth."
"Who taught you that?"
Yin Xiang raised his head and gave him a wry smile: "You."
Two machines, carrying a pile of salvaged items from the rubble, turned and left the temporarily uninhabitable building. Behind them, maintenance lights still shone, the barricades reflecting a cold light that illuminated the devastation.
