"See? I told you it wouldn't work, so we'll proceed with—"
"You've recovered?!"
Liz looked like she'd seen a ghost.
Luo Xiu did not answer, but instead said:
"Miss Liz, I'd like to buy some things, and also sell some things."
Liz, still in a state of astonishment, nodded like a puppet:
"Come to the front desk."
Even after turning around, Luo Xiu could still hear her muttering to herself:
"It's recovered? Really recovered? How is that possible? What's the principle behind it..."
In this transaction, Luo Xiu sold all four goblins he had for 650 copper coins.
He also sold the herbs and some items whose original owner's identity was unclear for 150 copper coins.
Adding the remaining silver coin, he had a total of 900 copper coins.
He then used the 900 copper coins to buy some food and tools he would need in the wild, as well as a few sets of clothes.
Both Leila and I were covered in blood, and we were too lazy to wash them, so we simply changed them all and prepared a few more sets.
With 800 copper coins left, Luo Xiu planned to buy some suitable weapons.
This field trip made him realize that weapons are also very important. This time, he plans to buy not only a blunt weapon, but also a better sharp weapon.
Using a dagger all the time isn't a good idea.
"You mean you want to buy a hammer, and also a knife or a sword?"
Lis looked at Luo Xiu suspiciously:
"Last time you said the hammer you bought was for Leila, so who's this sword for? You? For yourself? What would a healing mage like you need a sword for?"
Before Luo Xiu could even voice his prepared reason, Liz suddenly smiled again:
"But you're in luck this time. I've got a new batch of pretty good weapons. I remember there were hammers and swords in there."
Chapter 18 The Friendship of Two Copper Coins
Liz didn't seem to care what Luo Xiu's reasons were for buying the hammer and sword.
He seemed eager to start the next business deal as soon as possible.
Since Luo Xiu could save himself the trouble of explaining, he naturally wouldn't bring up the reason.
The familiar snap of fingers rang out once again.
Liz pointed to the exquisite weapons that had recently appeared in the display case and said with a smile:
"These are all Tier 2 weapons. Please choose any one you like."
Luo Xiu looked at the weapons in the display case; each one was exquisitely designed and beautifully shaped.
This is a world apart from those dull, gray Tier 1 weapons.
Even more exaggeratedly, each of them seemed to sparkle under the light.
Luo Xiu was somewhat surprised:
"A Tier 2 weapon can actually glow?"
"The oil applied."
Liz was slightly smug:
"I spent several afternoons painting them one by one, entirely by hand."
He was quite honest.
Luo Xiu nodded:
"Is the oil applied included in the price?"
Liz waved her hand:
"I'll only charge you two copper coins."
"Do you have any that haven't been oiled?"
Adhering to the principle of saving every penny possible, Luo Xiu asked.
Unexpectedly, Liz made a concession this time, smiling as she spoke:
"Since we're friends, I'll give you this oil for free. If you buy it, I'll give you a two-copper-coin discount."
"It seems our friendship is quite valuable."
Luo Xiu smiled and nodded.
He turned to look at the display case, where only three weapons met his needs.
It was a hammer that looked like it was made of wood, with a layer of red crystal on both the front and back hammerheads. The hammer was huge, about the thickness of a person's two arms.
There is also a pair of curved swords, with two blades connected like a full moon and a single blade like a crescent moon. The blades reflect a light blue luster, which should be the result of repeated quenching.
Finally, there was a broadsword, its blade wide and heavy, entirely black, giving off an extremely heavy and chilling aura.
The label next to it reads that the sword is 20 centimeters wide and the blade is 1 meter long. Another note states that the sword is extremely heavy.
Each of these three weapons costs 700 copper coins, meaning that Luo Xiu can only afford to buy one at most.
Luo Xiu smiled and said:
"Miss Liz, these weapons of yours don't seem to be hard currency."
Neither the scimitar, the hammer, nor that extremely heavy broadsword quite fit the needs of the average professional.
For example, the scimitar is rarely used by any profession; only pirates at sea have a fondness for this type of weapon.
The same goes for that broadsword; it's far too heavy for a swordsman class that doesn't rely on strength.
Since Luo Xiu had guessed correctly, Liss didn't try to hide it; instead, she smiled and said:
"If it were hard currency, it wouldn't be this price."
The attempt to lower the price failed.
Luo Xiu didn't want to waste any more time, so he nodded and said:
"Then this broadsword will do."
Hearing that Luo Xiu was going to buy it, Liz's smile became even brighter:
"Okay, sir, here's your 698 copper coins."
Luo Xiu paid the money.
Liz opened the display case and said apologetically:
"I'm sorry, sir, this sword is too heavy for me to lift. You or your slave may need to carry it yourself."
After saying that, Liz bowed apologetically.
Luo Xiu smiled, stepped forward, and directly put the magic pouch on the sword, putting the broadsword away.
Luo Xiu immediately put his sword away.
Liz's expression didn't change; she simply smiled and asked:
"Is there anything else you need?"
"Nothing."
Luo Xiu also had a smile on his face:
"Thank you for your help, Miss Liz. I will remember this day, for our great friendship. Have a good night."
"Best wishes to Ye Luoxiu for our great friendship."
Liz smiled as she saw her off.
Luo Xiu left with Leila.
The moment Luo Xiu stepped out of the guild's door, the smiles on his and Lis's faces, separated by a door, vanished simultaneously.
Leila looked at Luo Xiu, whose smile had vanished.
She vaguely sensed that the atmosphere between her master and Sister Liz was a bit strange, but she didn't know exactly what was strange about it.
"Master, are you unhappy?"
Luo Xiu was taken aback for a moment upon hearing this, then laughed:
"I'm not unhappy."
Leila was relieved to hear this.
She felt that her master would not lie to her.
Since the owner said they weren't unhappy, then they definitely weren't unhappy.
After hesitating for a moment, Leila spoke again:
"Master, may I ask you a question?"
"Just ask."
Luo Xiu's smile remained unchanged.
Are you friends with Sister Liz?
Leila asked.
Luo Xiu smiled and said:
"Barely so."
Leila listened to this answer, which sounded familiar, and seemed thoughtful.
But after thinking about it for a while, she gave up; it was too difficult for her.
