Chapter 71 What if Ellie took Sievert 4
Chapter 71 What if Ellie took Sievert 4
"Severus, you go with them to take a boat. First-graders all go to school by boat. The scenery on the lake is quite nice. The professors need to go to the auditorium to prepare first. I'll wait for you there. Remember to bring your protective gear."
Emeric patted Severus's head and escorted him to the boat before leaving. Although he was still a little worried, he believed that Severus could protect himself, partly because he had brought two children to keep Severus company.
"Severus, let's take a boat together, and then find two more classmates. I don't want to sit with that jerk."
"Hmm, I saw two people I know. They seem nice. Would you like to ride with them? If not, I'll go ask if it's possible for two people to share a boat."
"Your friend? I think we could get to know each other better."
"No, Casper and Ezra are from the Thaddeus family, and I've had contact with them before."
"We can give it a try. Anyone but Porter will do."
"Hey Lily, come quick, let's ride in the same boat."
Lily got a headache from the sound, so she hid behind Severus and pretended she hadn't heard it.
"Kasper, what brings you here? I was just about to come looking for you."
"Ezra has found a boat. Come with me. Would this lady like to come along?"
"certainly!"
Severus immediately guessed who had sent them. These two must be the people who accompanied him to school. Emeric had told him before that two people would be his classmates, and he never expected it to be these two.
They drifted all the way to the castle gate, where a stern-looking witch stood on the shore waiting for them. Only after everyone had disembarked and stood in line did the witch speak.
"I am Minerva McGonagall, you can call me Professor McGonagall."
"Come with me. Put your luggage in the room next door with your names on it. After you're assigned to your dorm, house-elves will deliver it to your dorm."
Then McGonagall began warning them not to make a lot of noise and to obey the sorting results, as if someone had done something to warrant her long-winded explanation.
Severus stood at the back, listening quietly to Professor McGonagall speak. He didn't want to squeeze through the crowd in front of him, figuring he'd get his turn eventually anyway, so it didn't matter if he got in a little earlier or later.
After explaining the precautions, McGonagall opened the door and led them into the auditorium. Severus immediately spotted Emeric on the professor's bench, and Emeric saw him too. The moment their eyes met, Severus's aura softened.
Severus Snape
Upon hearing his name, he walked to the chair and sat down. He put on the Sorting Hat with some disdain, deciding that he would wash his hair when he got back, as he felt the dust on the hat would fall onto his hair.
"Hey, I'm not dirty, okay? Let me see which house you'd be a good fit for. Hmm, you know that little pervert Thaddeus???"
"Slytherin, Slytherin, Minerva, take me away, take me away!!!"
It was clear that Emeric had left a deep impression on the Sorting Hat. Severus was curious about what had happened then, and he planned to ask Emeric later.
He met the probing gazes and sat down in the empty seat next to Casper, which had been reserved for him. The others at the long table had never heard of the surname Snape and couldn't help but feel a little contemptuous. They wanted to say something but were glared at by the upperclassman next to them.
"You bunch of brats, don't drag us into this! Didn't you hear the Sorting Hat ask him what his relationship was with Thaddeus? You still dare to mess with him?"
"Senior, what do you mean by that? I don't understand. I just want to make friends with the new junior."
"Ha, what are you Slytherins pretending for? If Thaddeus hadn't graduated, you lot would have gotten a beating for your attitude."
"You've all graduated, why are you still afraid of him? Are you just cowards?"
"We're cowards? Go home and ask your father what happened seven years ago."
"See that new face on the professor's desk? That's Emeric Thaddeus. He's back. Don't say I didn't warn you, don't drag us down with you if you're looking to die."
The fourth graders weren't too afraid of Emerick anymore, because he was busy graduating and didn't have time to deal with those brats. The current seventh graders are the ones who got the worst treatment, and even after four years, they're still terrified.
"Is it really that terrifying? I'd like to see what he, as a professor, can do to me!"
Upon hearing this, all the older students sitting next to this person moved away, repeatedly giving Emerick above them meaningful glances to indicate that they didn't know him.
"Kasper, do you know what Airi did to scare them so much?"
"It was nothing much, just taking care of all the people who liked to discriminate, whether they were students or their families. My father was so busy during that time that he didn't have time to talk to me."
Kasper explained in a slightly resentful voice, but he didn't know the specifics and could only give a general outline.
Severus nodded; he was prepared to ask Emeric himself, and for now, a general understanding would suffice.
The senior sitting next to them shuddered when he heard this, clearly recalling that dark time. However, he was relatively lucky; he only got a beating from his father, and in severe cases, he couldn't get out of bed for half a month.
After the last person walked up to Hufflepuff, Dumbledore tapped his silver cup, drawing the attention of all the young wizards.
"As the headmaster, I first welcome everyone to Hogwarts. And finally, I'll say this: Idiots! Crybabies! Trash! Troublemakers!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a large amount of food appeared on the table.
The food in front of Severus was different from what the others had; it was all his favorite dishes from home, clearly ordered by Emeric. He guessed that Fufu had been brought along as well.
After the mealtime, the freshmen from each college followed their class leaders to begin the next segment: speeches from the dean and class leaders.
Slytherin's common room is located beneath the Black Lake; the eerie environment and low temperature cast a shadow over the young wizards' hearts.
Emeric followed behind them, worried that Severus might be bullied. He planned to take Severus away after the dean finished speaking. He had specially placed a two-meter-long bed in the bedroom so that he could live with Severus.
Slughorn still adheres to the same theory: Slytherin should coexist peacefully and unite against external threats.
Emeric leaned against the wall and almost fell asleep. After the rankmaster finished his address, he nodded to his junior and took Severus's hand and left.
"Severus, the rooms here are too small. Come stay with me. I specifically asked Albus for a big room, hmm?"
"Okay, Ellie, what did you do back then that makes them still afraid of you now?"
"It's alright. It just ruined a lot of business. It's because these people are always bullying others, so I gave them some things to do, and then there wasn't so much trouble."
From what I heard, this "many businesses" must be quite serious, serious enough to warrant beating one's own child.
"Bullying? Did they bully you?"
"At that time, Gellert sent me from Durmstrang to win back his wife. I didn't have much power or reputation in England, so these opportunists naturally wanted to bully me. But unfortunately, they chose the wrong person from the start."
Of course, those who tried to bully him were dealt with by Gellert and then by his father, so there's no need to tell Severus about that.
(The extra chapters were surprisingly easy to write, emmmm)
