Chapter 56 Annihilation
Chapter 56 Annihilation
The soldiers behind Baron White River drew their longswords, and the two crossbowmen also aimed at Alwin.
Alwin gripped the hilt of his sword tightly with both hands, took a step forward, and began to maneuver.
Baron Shirakawa retreated behind the crowd and spoke with a cold laugh.
"Still want to resist? After fighting all night, how much strength do you have left?"
Alwin spat. "You talk too much nonsense!"
Baron Shirakawa's lips curled into a fierce smile. "What are you all standing there for! Get him! Seize him!"
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The crossbowman pulled the trigger, and two bolts shot out quickly.
Alwin strode forward, raised his sword to deflect one of the arrows, spun halfway around, and dodged another.
"ha!"
A loud shout rang out, and a guard rushed forward, raising his knight's sword high, the sharp blade flashing as it fell towards him.
Alwin reacted quickly, his arm muscles bulging.
Parry!
"when!"
The sound of gold and iron clashing sounded.
A gray cat's eye appeared beneath the greatsword, and the right spiked boot slammed into the opponent's knee.
The powerful force pierced through the armor and directly fractured the guard's knee joint.
"Ugh!"
After a dull thud, the guard lowered his gaze, his heavy body kneeling on one knee, only able to see Alwin's legs quickly wrapping around behind him.
Immediately, a terrifying force pierced through his back, forcing him to brace himself with his hands on the ground.
Arwen placed his right foot on the former's back, and heard a roar in his ear.
"Freak, die!"
"Get off Doug!"
Three guards drew their swords and stepped forward, but Arwen pushed them away with his left hand.
The fan-shaped impact roared out, sending the three of them staggering back several steps.
【Alder Seal】.
Arwen raised his hands high, the ancient blade of his greatsword pointing straight to the sky, and then swung it down fiercely.
The guard's head, helmet and all, flew off his feet, and blood gushed to the ground like a fountain.
"call out!"
Arwen caught the sharp, urgent whistle and leaned back slightly.
The crossbow bolt flew past him an inch in front of him, ruffling the black hair on his forehead.
The cat looked on indifferently, as if it wanted to cast a Kun seal, but then quickly stopped.
Baron Shirakawa was right. After a night of fighting, he didn't have the energy to continuously release magic seals.
We must act swiftly and decisively.
The crossbowman was so intimidated by that gaze that he momentarily forgot to cock his crossbow.
As for the other crossbowman, his dark arrow was already pointed at Arwen.
The latter stepped over the guards' corpses, exerted force with both legs, and charged out like a cheetah.
Three guards with swords tried to step forward to stop them.
Despite wielding a greatsword, Arwin moves with remarkable agility thanks to the [Giant Bloodline] buff.
Within two breaths, three rapid sword lights flashed out in a dazzling display under the [Spinning Blade].
The first sword strike slashed diagonally, severing one person's neck.
He then twisted and swept his body horizontally, the powerful force severing the second man's ribs.
The final upward thrust pierced through the third man's thick nose guard, leaving the guard's face a bloody mess.
"Flap, flap, flap!"
The sound of three suits of armor hitting the ground rang out.
Alwin didn't stop; in fact, he sped up a bit, his black hair flying wildly in the wind.
The crossbowman aiming at him broke out in a cold sweat.
In less than a second, the black-haired demon would be upon him.
His body began to tremble, his heart pounded, and his reason was rapidly crumbling, which severely affected his aiming accuracy.
"Click!"
The trigger was pulled, and the arrow veered off course, flying past the Witcher.
Arwen took three steps forward, his heavy sword whistling as it smashed through the crossbowman's ribs and spine like a battering ram.
The latter's body was thrown out at an extremely twisted angle, and a large amount of blood gushed out of its mouth.
The other crossbowman was so terrified by this that he turned and ran away.
With a leap, Alwin unleashed a powerful diagonal slash, shattering the crossbowman's shoulder!
"what!"
A scream rang out.
Arwen drew his bloodstained greatsword, hoisted it over his shoulder with one hand, and coldly looked toward Baron White River's location.
Baron Shirakawa did not show the fear he had expected; instead, he remained unusually calm.
Six armored soldiers, including two crossbowmen, would be considered the entire fortune of an ordinary baron.
The other person held the sword hilt in his right hand, glanced at it a few times as if inspecting the precious sword in his hand, and then held it up in front of his eyes with one hand.
"With your despicable witchcraft, you killed six of my guards in such a short time. You are quite skilled in the entire Kingdom of Cordwin."
"But witcher, you should feel honored to die by my sword!"
Having said that, Baron Shirakawa launched a charge, his ferocious eyes filled with a bloodthirsty glint, his armor rustling as his knight's sword slashed fiercely.
This imposing aura made Alwin's eyes extremely serious.
"clang!"
Swords clashed, needles met wheat awns.
A powerful force emanated from the sword, causing him to stagger back two steps, his hand slightly numb.
This strength is comparable to that of a werewolf, and it is definitely at the level of a strongman among humans.
But given the opponent's height and build, he was at most 1.75 meters tall and should not have possessed such strength.
Alwin's eyes were moved.
Is there something wrong with Baron Shirakawa? Is he exceptionally gifted, or has he encountered some extraordinary event?
Baron Shirakawa lunged forward, seizing the moment when Alwin was caught off guard, and unleashed a fierce attack from an extremely tricky angle.
The silver sword light, like a crescent moon, forced Arwen to retreat repeatedly.
"Ha, where's your witchcraft? Why aren't you using it anymore? I brought the tortoise-shaped stone; it's the nemesis of you freaks."
Baron Shirakawa said dismissively.
Only after being reminded by the other party did Alwin notice the tortoise-shell-shaped stone hanging on Baron White River's chest, and he couldn't help but laugh at this.
The turtle-shaped stone can defeat the Witcher? That's pure nonsense, a rumor that came out of nowhere.
I was completely surprised to have to compete with my opponent in these moves.
His expression, however, deeply pierced Baron Shirakawa's heart. He raised his arms high and brought his sword down fiercely.
"court death!"
Arwen took a deep breath and swung his greatsword horizontally, this time firmly catching the opponent's attack.
A look of astonishment flashed across Baron Shirakawa's eyes.
【Alder Sign】!
"boom!"
The fan-shaped impact knocked the Baron to the ground, his armor scattered and revealing his brown hair.
This is the final seal.
Alwin scoffed, "Lord Leo Kramer, it seems your tortoise-shaped stone can't protect you."
Baron Shirakawa scrambled to his feet, his face contorted with resentment.
"How is this possible? 'The Description of Freaks, or Witchers' clearly states that the Tortoise Stone is the bane of you Witchers!"
"Don't try to bluff your way out of this! I'm going to kill you!"
He charged forward, continuing to swing his longsword at Arwen.
The sharp, slicing sounds continued, and just by listening to the dense, crisp sounds, one could tell that the opponent possessed considerable strength.
"Freaks, or Descriptions of Witchers," it's that stuff again...
"clang!"
The greatsword and the knight's sword clashed, both exerting their full strength, causing the blades to tremble violently.
Baron Shirakawa's face contorted, his cheeks flushed red, and saliva flew everywhere.
"You lowly inhuman, I am a knight appointed by His Majesty the glorious King Miodrag, a baron who has fought countless battles against the elves."
"What makes you think you can beat me?!"
Alwin felt a tsunami-like force emanating from the sword, and the blade tilted towards his shoulder.
His gray pupils shrank to pinpoints, and his heart pounded like thunder beside his ears.
The power of the Giant Bloodline poured forth.
Baron Shirakawa sensed the beast-like power surging from his opponent, forcefully pushing the sword back and bending his arm.
"Impossible, you freak..."
Panic made him want to back out, but it was too late.
The sword's edge pressed against his shoulder armor, the immense force forcing the baron to kneel on one knee.
"Click click click..."
The blade wore down the armor plates, gradually causing them to dent and break until blood oozed out, staining the river emblem on his chest.
"what!"
Baron Shirakawa's voice was filled with pain, and his face was covered in cold sweat.
He stared into Arwen's cat-like eyes, sensing a deep killing intent within them!
He had seen that look countless times, in the eyes of the elves he had slaughtered.
If this continues, he will definitely lose his life here.
The composure and arrogance of just moments before shattered completely at this moment.
"You...you actually wanted to kill me!"
