Chapter 138 Piccolo Passes the Test
Chapter 138 Piccolo Passes the Test
Klin grabbed Dandy and dashed into the mountains like a whirlwind, the two pressed tightly against the cliff face. Klin gritted his teeth, desperately reducing the intensity of his aura until it was completely concealed. He stared intently at the sky, barely daring to breathe.
In the blink of an eye, Vegeta arrived with the speed of a ghost. Krillin swallowed nervously, his heart pounding in his chest. Just then, at the critical moment, Vegeta seemed to sense something, abruptly changed direction, and flew away.
Seeing this, Krillin breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to himself, "What happened? Why did he suddenly leave?" He suddenly turned to look in the direction Vegeta had gone and exclaimed, "There was a powerful aura in that direction. So that's why."
At this moment, Vegeta, flying through the air, smirked and muttered to himself, "This aura, it must be Zarbon. Hehehehe."
……
In the vast and boundless universe, a spaceship is sailing alone. Inside the cabin, Sun Wukong is stubbornly doing sit-ups under the harsh environment of 50 times gravity.
"28...29...30...Ah...Ha!" Sun Wukong was drenched in sweat. After struggling to complete 30 repetitions, he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. He exclaimed, "Phew...Finally finished 30! Training under 50 times gravity is indeed more difficult than I imagined!"
……
On the mysterious and vast planet King Kai, spirit clouds swirled. Piccolo, his face etched with annoyance, crossed his arms tightly against his chest like iron hoops, leaning casually against the smooth wall, his eyes revealing a hint of unruliness and disdain as he coldly watched King Kai approach step by step.
King Kai stood with his hands behind his back, his expression a mix of majesty and humor. He coughed twice, his voice echoing across the empty space: "Alright, let's begin training now. My training is extremely rigorous and demanding!" Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu, upon hearing this, instantly straightened their backs, heels together, their expressions tense yet expectant, their eyes fixed on King Kai, ready to face the impending challenge.
Unexpectedly, King Kai abruptly changed the subject, covering his mouth with both hands and letting out a hearty laugh: "Hahahaha, I'm joking again! I actually said I was strict with training, how ridiculous! I'm joking again!" His laughter was as loud as a bell, making the surrounding air seem to tremble. Tien Shinhan and the other two exchanged bewildered glances, their faces full of black lines, their lips twitching slightly, completely at a loss.
Seeing the expressions on their faces, King Kai's laughter subsided. He slowly turned his back to them, and after a moment, he suddenly turned around, staring at them with piercing eyes. He asked loudly, "Why aren't you laughing? Isn't it funny? Or do you want to go home now?"
Yamcha's mind raced, and he was the first to react. He turned up his lips and stretched into an exaggerated smile, slapping his thighs repeatedly as he pretended to laugh out loud: "Hahahaha, that's hilarious! Lord Kai's joke is absolutely brilliant!" Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu quickly chimed in, laughing so hard they were doubled over, though their laughter carried a hint of embarrassment and helplessness.
King Kai nodded in satisfaction at the three's performance, cleared his throat twice, turned around and called into the room, "Very good, Babrus, come out!"
After Babrus emerged, King Kai said to the three, "Now you begin your first training exercise—capture Babrus!"
Upon hearing this, Yamcha's eyes widened, his mouth slightly agape, and he exclaimed in astonishment, "Huh? What kind of training is this?"
King Kai straightened up, put his hands behind his back, and walked steadily in front of the three of them, saying slowly, "Don't underestimate this training. It took Goku two weeks to catch Babblus."
Upon hearing this, the three gasped, their faces showing shock and a defiant spirit. Tien Shinhan clenched his fists, his eyes resolute, and said, "Two weeks? I'll definitely catch it in even less time!"
Tien Shinhan paused, stepped forward, clasped his hands in a fist salute to King Kai, and asked, "King Kai, if we capture Babblus, can we receive your formal training?"
King Kai tilted his head slightly, looked at Tien Shinhan, shook his head and said, "It's not that easy. After you capture Babblus, you'll have to undergo Gregory's training before you can receive my training."
With that, the burly Babrus burst out from the corner and took off running. Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu took a deep breath, their eyes filled with unwavering determination, and trudged after him with heavy, labored steps. The gravity on King Kai's planet was ten times that of Earth; every step they took felt like walking through mud, their bodies swaying and stumbling, and they repeatedly fell due to their inability to maintain their balance. But the three gritted their teeth, got up again and again, and continued their pursuit of Babrus.
King Kai stood still, his hands clasped behind his back, watching the three figures disappear into the distance. A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips as he hummed a tune and turned to go back inside. But just as he lifted his foot to take a step, his expression suddenly changed, and his ears twitched as if he had sensed something. Immediately afterward, a series of gorilla-like squeaks reached his ears.
King Kai whirled around, only to see Piccolo appear before him like a ghost. Piccolo's face was grim, and he strode over, his hand gripping Bubbles' neck like a vise. Reaching King Kai, Piccolo swung his arm and slammed Bubbles to the ground. Bubbles trembled with fear, scrambling behind King Kai while screaming in terror.
Piccolo snorted coldly, his voice deep and icy, as if it could lower the temperature of the surrounding air. He glanced sideways at King Kai and said coldly, "What kind of training is this? It's a complete waste of my time!"
King Kai's face darkened, his brows furrowed, and his eyes burned with rage. He roared, "Piccolo, when did I give you permission to train? You haven't passed the test yet!"
Bick, however, was not afraid at all. He raised the corners of his mouth and revealed a mocking smile. He sneered again, "I'm giving you a huge favor by accepting your training. Don't be ungrateful."
King Kai was taken aback at first, then threw his head back and burst into laughter: "Hahahaha, you want me to... hahahaha... ungrateful... hahahaha... accepting my training is doing me a favor? Hahahaha, this is the funniest joke I've ever heard! Piccolo, you really are something else!" The laughter echoed across King Kai's planet for a long time, breaking the original tranquility.
Just then, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and Chiaotzu finally dragged their exhausted bodies over. They were drenched in sweat and their faces were covered in dust. Seeing King Kai laughing so hard, the three of them looked at each other with bewildered expressions, their eyes filled with confusion and bewilderment. They simply stood there, watching this farce unfold.
