Chapter 106 Investigation from TPC
Chapter 106 Investigation from TPC
Ignoring the commotion behind him, Kaul crouched down and picked up a piece of rubble from the ruins that belonged to Daga's face.
"I never imagined that in the end, to protect me, you wouldn't even be able to finish your last words... even though you, being just a stone statue, can't speak anyway."
Even so, Kaul was still somewhat saddened.
Memories from thirty million years ago flashed through my mind like a revolving lantern: Daga, who always found him troublesome but fought Gatanothor to the death; and Gedi, the golden retriever who always clung to him for meat...
Now, everything has changed.
Kaul carefully tucked the stone statue belonging to Daga into his arms, placing it close to his chest. He stood up and looked at Daigo walking towards him from behind. Daigo stopped three meters behind Kaul, panting heavily.
He stared at the man's back, the oppressive feeling making him involuntarily hold his breath.
"It was you..." Daigo's voice was somewhat hesitant, "In the very beginning, you guided me, didn't you? And later in the space, you also guided me, didn't you?"
Kaul slowly turned around. It was the first time he had been treated as a senior, and he needed to maintain a certain level of prestige.
Those eyes, which seemed to have witnessed thirty million years of vicissitudes, calmly gazed at the young man before them.
"You did a good job, Daigo." Kaul's voice was deep and resonant, giving off a boss-like aura.
"Tiga's light has finally found its successor, but as I just said, do not imitate the Tiga of the past. You must use your human heart to forge a new path."
Daigo nodded seriously: "I understand, but... who exactly are you? Why are you with the giant statue? And that monster just now... and why am I...?"
Just as Daigo was asking the question, a series of footsteps approached.
"Don't move! Hands up!"
Vice Captain Munakata, along with Shinjo, Lina, and Horii, armed with Hyper rifles, formed a fan shape to surround Kaul in the center.
Their eyes were filled with wariness towards Kaul.
They had witnessed the monster's formidable fighting power, and the sight of this man subduing it with a single device had shattered their understanding and posed a significant threat.
"Daigo, come quick! This guy is dangerous!" Shinjo shouted.
Daigo quickly spread his arms to shield Kaul: "Commander, wait! He's not the enemy! If he hadn't summoned the monster to help, Ultraman Tiga might have been in danger!"
"Daigo, step back. Who else is Ultraman Tiga?" Munakata was somewhat puzzled, but did not delve into it, as the main focus at present was on dealing with Kaul in front of him.
Kaul remained calm. He knew that current human weapons couldn't kill him with a single shot; it would take several shots to kill him.
He pushed Daigo's arm aside and faced the gun pointed at him with great composure.
His gaze swept across the faces of the Victory Team members, and his aura made Vice Captain Munakata involuntarily tighten his grip on the handle of his gun.
"Put down your guns, guardians of Earth. If I were truly your enemy, that monster wouldn't have simply defeated Golza and Melba."
Kaul's tone was calm because he was indeed confident. He believed that the entire Earth, before the arrival of the Atdis, was unable to defeat Little Rock.
He hung the Reonics combat device back on his waist, his hands hanging naturally at his sides, appearing completely unguarded.
"Take me to your superior." Caul looked up.
"If there's anything you want to know, I can tell you, even news about the future."
Zongfang looked at Kaul and, for some reason, felt a leadership quality similar to that of Director Sawai from this man. However, he thought it best to cherish Kaul as he was now, because he didn't know when he might revert to his old ways.
Zongfang slowly lowered his gun and spoke into the communicator: "Headquarters, this is Zongfang. We have discovered an... an ancient human who has awakened from the ancient ruins. He requests to speak with higher-ups."
...
A few hours later.
TPC Far East Headquarters Base, a highly confidential medical isolation center.
Inside the sterile room, various medical instruments representing the most advanced technology on Earth were connected to Kaul's body to perform peripheral scans.
Wearing a large hospital gown, Kaul sat quietly on the hospital bed, resting with his eyes closed. He kept thinking about how the ancient humans perished and where the giants had gone.
Outside the isolation window, the top medical expert team from the TPC Science Bureau, along with Horii's team members, were staring at the constantly updated physical test data on the large screen, and none of them looked well.
"This...how is this possible?!"
The chief medical doctor stared at the screen, utterly shocked.
"Mr. Horii, are you sure you brought him out of a site that was theoretically sealed off for 30 million years?"
Horii nodded; he had witnessed it himself. "Doctor, I saw him sit up from that crystal capsule with my own eyes. Is there anything wrong with his physical data?"
"Although his appearance is the same as ours, his internal body is completely different."
The doctor pulled up a cell analysis image and magnified it on the screen.
"His cell density is thousands of times that of a normal human, his bone strength has reached the level of an alloy, and what's even more terrifying is..."
The doctor's eyes revealed a fervent desire for research.
"Within his body, there is a kind of light particle that is constantly repairing the wounds in his body that would have killed an ordinary person long ago."
"Moreover, deep within his genetic helix lies an alien genetic chain that we have never seen before, and his body, even in our detection, is still constantly evolving."
Horii felt a chill run down his spine.
He looked at the man sitting on the hospital bed through the glass and muttered to himself, "Goodness...did we bring back an ancient human or a human monster?"
At the other end of the base, in the conference room, the atmosphere was equally tense.
The top executives of TPC, including Director Sawai, Director Yoshioka, Captain Iruma, Staff Officer Nanbara, and others, were sitting around the conference table, watching Kaul's image on the large screen.
"Absurd! Utter nonsense!"
Tetsuji Yoshioka, the police chief with a fiery temper and a strong advocacy for force, waved his folding fan, his face grim.
"A person who has lived for thirty million years? A dangerous individual capable of controlling a terrifying monster seventy meters in size? Sawai, we actually want to bring this ticking time bomb, who could destroy headquarters at any moment, into our conference room? I suggest immediately using the highest level of force from the police department to seize the monster-controlling equipment on him and place him under complete isolation and investigation! This is for the sake of the Earth, for the sake of humanity."
"Director Yoshioka, please calm down."
