Chapter 149 Waiting for the Bus
Chapter 149 Waiting for the Bus
Faced with the sudden appearance of the cockroach army, not only was I dumbfounded, but the dung beetle prince was also completely dumbfounded. How did such a large number of cockroaches suddenly appear?
"What if I don't give it to him?" the dung beetle prince shouted, quite annoyed.
"That depends on whether my men agree or not," said the cockroach leader.
Then all the cockroaches immediately took another step forward, closing in step by step.
"What do you want to do? Have you forgotten the truce agreement?" Faced with the cockroach's relentless pursuit, the dung beetle prince was clearly panicked.
"We're just trying to save our friend. Does that mean I can't even do anything if they steal my friend?" the cockroach leader said, clearly annoyed.
"You...when did you become friends?" the dung beetle prince said, feigning displeasure.
"Do I have to report to you every time I make a friend?" the cockroach leader said, clearly annoyed.
"You just wait and see, I'll remember this today!" the dung beetle prince shouted angrily.
"I won't forget," the cockroach leader said casually.
"Let's go," the dung beetle prince shouted angrily, and then led his men away.
"No need to see me out," the cockroach leader said cheerfully from behind.
The little dung beetle prince you drove was trembling with anger; it seems this guy has never suffered such a loss before.
Only after the dung beetle prince left did the cockroach leader approach: "Are you all alright?"
I was a little confused by the cockroach leader's friendly greeting. Did we even know each other? Why did he come to rescue us?
"Don't be nervous. You saved my son before. He came to help when he saw you were in danger," the cockroach explained.
It was only then that I remembered that in saving Dafu, I had also saved the cockroaches inside. I never thought that good deeds would be rewarded. I was so moved that I cried.
I was terrified! I thought I'd just escaped one danger only to fall into another. I never imagined that good people would actually be rewarded.
"Thank you, thank you so much," I said with great difficulty, lying on the ground.
I had already been badly hurt by the fall, and the shock I just experienced left me completely disoriented. Now that I'm finally safe, my whole body went limp instantly.
"You're safe now. You're not local flies, are you?" the cockroach leader asked curiously.
"Yes, how did you know?" I asked, quite puzzled.
"I can tell from your accents, where are you headed?" the cockroach leader asked.
Holy crap, do animals have accents too? They all sound the same to me, there's no difference.
But since they've already asked me questions, I can't just not answer them, right? So I said, "We're here to catch a bus. We're going to the city, that's why we came here."
I briefly explained to the cockroach leader how I got here and how I saved his child.
"So that's what happened. I didn't expect you to be on such a long journey. I must remind you, if you want to leave now, hurry up, it's almost midnight," the cockroach leader said solemnly.
"Why?" I asked nervously. Could it be that something else is going to happen after midnight?
Could it be haunted at night? Holy crap, could it be that scary? This cockroach leader doesn't seem to be joking. Could there really be some danger I don't know about?
"Because there will be very few cars after midnight," the cockroach leader said mysteriously.
Oh my god, I thought they were talking about something else. Oh, so this is what it is. It's like that horror story I heard before, where girls should never comb their hair in front of a mirror at midnight.
Otherwise, you'll encounter something terrifying: you'll find yourself losing your hair...
Oh my god, hair loss is such a terrible thing! Everyone loses hair if they can't keep their hair, okay?
Now, the cockroach leader is exactly the same as the story I told. I never expected that this seemingly rough cockroach would have the potential to tell lame jokes.
"Alright, we're leaving now. You should leave quickly too," the cockroach leader said with great concern.
Fortunately, the fly didn't have any bones or anything; it just hurt. It wasn't as bad as the saying goes, "it takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone." So, after chatting with the cockroach leader for a while, the pain gradually disappeared.
With the cockroach leader gone, the restroom fell silent. Dafu and I gradually regained our strength, and it was time to get going.
After all this trouble, I don't know if there are any cars left at this hour. Even if there are, I guess I'll have to wait a long time.
I hope there are still vehicles available at this time, even just trucks would be fine. All I want right now is a vehicle.
Looking at Dafu beside him, he asked, "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
"No, it just hurt a little when I fell down, but it's better now," Dafu replied.
"That's good. Since you're not injured, let's hurry up and go. Now let's go outside and wait for the car. Can we still fly?" I asked with concern.
“It can fly,” Dafu replied.
"That's good. Let's go. Hopefully, there are still buses to the city in the middle of the night." After saying that, I flew outside with Dafu.
Once outside, a gentle breeze made me feel incredibly comfortable. It's definitely better outside; I almost couldn't get out of the toilet.
After coming out, Dafu happily exclaimed, "Twenty-two cents! Look at all these cars!"
I didn't even bother to look at it, and said rather irritably, "Trying to flag down a car on the highway is just asking for trouble. Besides, they've locked up their lathes, how are you going to get in?"
"What should we do then? Should we fly to the city?" Dafu asked curiously.
"How is that possible? Flying? You'd get hit by a car on the road!" I exclaimed, speechless.
Anyone who has ever driven a car, especially on a highway, knows that after you exit the highway, there will be a lot of dead moths in front of your car. Those are from cars hitting moths while driving at night on the highway.
So going to the highway to find a car would be suicide. The only thing we can do now is wait at the gas station rest area for a car going to the city to pass by and refuel here so that we can safely get into their car.
There are already few people driving at night, and even fewer stopping to refuel. And if those refueling are going to our city, then there are even fewer.
Looks like we'll be waiting a while tonight...
