Chapter 578: Foodie Spirit
Chapter 578: Foodie Spirit
The nearby maids, who had been quietly waiting beside the bathtub, immediately stood up. Lucy, who had personally been overseeing everything, smiled with obvious relief."Lana. You’ve finally woken up."
Lana weakly nodded. However... before she could ask another question... her stomach loudly growled.
Lucy couldn’t help smiling.
"I know you’re hungry."
She gently laughed. "But before eating anything... You should wait for the black materials to vanish."
Lana looked at her in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Lucy patiently explained, "After your breakthrough was completed, we thought everything had finally ended."
She shook her head.
"But your body continued undergoing another round of purification. As your cultivation stabilized, countless dark impurities began seeping out from every pore in your body. They completely covered your skin. They also released an incredibly foul smell."
She smiled helplessly.
"In the end... Master Axel ordered us to clean you up before you woke."
Although Lana had already been soaking in the bathtub for quite some time, the water surrounding her had only turned a light grayish-black. It had yet to become completely clear.
Looking at the murky water around her, Lana couldn’t help but frown. "So... I still can’t go and eat anything?"
Lucy gently nodded.
"Young Master Axel instructed us that until every last trace of those impurities has completely left your body, it would be best if you avoid eating anything."
Lana immediately let out a long, miserable sigh. "Alright..."
’Why does cultivation always have to be so troublesome?’
..............................
Another entire day quietly passed. Throughout that day, more black impurities continued seeping out from every pore of Lana’s body.
The foul smell gradually weakened, yet it still lingered faintly inside the room. During this period, Lucian personally came to stay beside Lana.
He even summoned two spirits to assist with her recovery. The first spirit was a Water Spirit.
It continuously controlled gentle streams of crystal-clear water, making sure Lana’s body remained perfectly clean as fresh impurities emerged.
The second spirit was far more unusual. Its name was Foodie.
Unlike ordinary healing spirits, Foodie possessed an incredibly rare ability.
As long as it continuously infused its energy into someone’s body, that person would never feel hungry.
The energy itself contained countless nutrients and life essence required by the human body.
Although it wasn’t actual food, it could temporarily replace nutrition while helping the body recover.
Thanks to Foodie, Lana no longer felt the painful hunger she had expected. She couldn’t help smiling gratefully.
"Thank you..."
Meanwhile, Lucian refused to leave Lana’s side even once. Seeing him remain beside her throughout everything, Lana couldn’t help feeling embarrassed.
She lowered her head before quietly saying, "You should leave."
She awkwardly scratched her cheek. "How am I supposed to face you in the future after you’ve seen me looking this miserable?"
Lucian softly chuckled. "Why?"
He smiled teasingly. "Are you planning to find someone else if I leave?"
The moment those words entered her ears, Lana rolled her eyes. "As if you would ever allow me to do that."
Lucian’s smile slowly disappeared. Instead, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
His voice became much softer. "Dare I ask... are you actually planning to find someone else?"
The temperature inside the room seemed to drop by several degrees. The maids standing nearby immediately lowered their heads.
Even the Water Spirit quietly floated farther away. The dangerous pressure surrounding Lucian instantly made Lana realize that she had stepped onto very thin ice.
Without wasting another second, she hurriedly waved both hands. "No! It’s not like that at all!"
She hurriedly shook her head. "I only meant..."
She looked away awkwardly. "I’m... really not presentable right now."
Her cheeks became slightly red. "What if you start disliking me after seeing me looking this awful?"
She looked down at herself before mumbling, "And I probably smell terrible too..."
Lucian gently smiled. "Trust me. It doesn’t matter."
Then his eyes became slightly playful. "Besides... there will come a day when you’ll smell like me instead."
For a brief second... Lana couldn’t understand what he meant.
Then... the hidden implication suddenly struck her. Her entire face instantly turned bright red.
She pointed a trembling finger toward him. "You! How dare you flirt with me when I’m in such a miserable condition!"
She pouted angrily.
"Just wait until I’ve completely recovered! I’ll definitely tease you until you can’t even speak!"
Lucian merely smiled without arguing. He simply enjoyed watching her embarrassed reaction.
.........................
By late that night, Lana’s condition finally stabilized. The water surrounding her body gradually returned to its original crystal-clear color.
Seeing this, everyone inside the room quietly let out sighs of relief.
After stepping out of the bathtub, Lana quickly wrapped herself in fresh clothing.
Before she could even take another step... Lucian gently picked her up in a princess carry.
Lana blinked in surprise. "What are you doing?"
Lucian adjusted the blanket around her body before calmly replying,
"You’ve remained in water for several days. I don’t want you catching a cold."
His voice softened.
"If possible... From now on, only apply medicinal pastes. Don’t consume herbs anymore."
His brows unconsciously knitted together. He had personally witnessed Lana hovering between life and death.
Just remembering those terrifying three days made his heart tighten painfully.
For several terrifying moments... he had genuinely believed he might lose her forever. That feeling alone was enough to make him never want her to undergo such suffering again.
Lana simply chuckled. "You’re worrying far too much."
Lucian quietly gazed at her. His usually cold eyes gradually softened. "Lana... You’re beautiful."
Lana immediately raised one eyebrow. "Really?"
She excitedly smiled. "Quick! Bring me a mirror!"
Instead of handing her one immediately, Lucian frowned. "First... Get under the blanket."
Without waiting for her response, he gently placed her onto the bed before carefully covering her with a thick duvet.
Only after making sure she was completely warm did he ask one of the maids, "Bring some ginger tea."
A few minutes later, after personally feeding Lana warm ginger tea and a bowl of soft porridge, Lucian finally handed her a mirror.
The moment Lana looked into it, she completely froze.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. She slowly pointed toward her own reflection. "Is..."
She blinked repeatedly. "...is that really me?"
Lucian nodded with a gentle smile. "It really is."
Inside the mirror... Lana saw someone who looked both familiar and completely unfamiliar.
Her complexion had become astonishingly fair. Her cheeks carried a naturally rosy blush.
Her lips possessed the perfect cherry-red shade, looking softer and more beautiful than any lipstick could ever achieve.
Her eyelashes had become noticeably longer. Even her eyebrows had become perfectly shaped. Her skin glowed with a smooth, pearl-like radiance. Her long hair looked silkier, healthier, and far more vibrant than before.
As for her deep sapphire-blue eyes... they resembled an endless ocean beneath the moonlight.
The longer she stared... the more stunned she became.
Finally, she softly muttered, "Oh my God..."
She placed one hand over her chest dramatically. "I think I’m starting to fall in love with myself."
Hearing her shamelessly narcissistic remark, Mr. Crow immediately rolled his eyes. "Now that you’ve finished admiring your own beauty..."
He flapped his wings proudly. "Isn’t it time to admire me too?"
Lana looked toward him in confusion.
The next moment... her eyes widened. Even Mr. Crow had changed.
His feathers had become significantly glossier. He also appeared slightly larger than before. Unable to hide her curiosity, Lana asked,
"You’ve become stronger, too?"
Mr. Crow proudly puffed out his chest. "Of course."
He proudly lifted his beak. "I’ve even awakened a brand-new ability."
He looked at Lana smugly. "Can you guess what it is?"
Lana thought carefully before eventually shaking her head. "No. I honestly have no idea."
Mr. Crow chuckled proudly. "Well... I can now see through objects."
Lana frowned. "What kind of perverted ability is that?"
Mr. Crow’s face immediately darkened.
Fortunately... since he was already covered in black feathers, absolutely nobody noticed the difference.
He immediately shouted, "Is that really how you should speak to your companion?"
He flapped his wings angrily. "Serves you right for producing all that disgusting black sludge!"
He proudly snorted. "It was probably your black heart leaking out."
The moment Lana heard those words... her expression instantly darkened.
She pointed threateningly toward him. "If you dare mention those black impurities ever again..."
She slowly cracked her knuckles. "...I’ll personally pluck every single feather from your body!"
Mr. Crow immediately flew several meters backward. Then he dramatically sighed.
"Look..."
He sadly looked toward everyone. "This is the master I chose."
He shook his head dramatically.
"She’s such an inhumane person. She’s actually planning to turn her own companion into a roasted bald crow."
Watching one human and one crow endlessly bicker with each other, every maid inside the room could only exchange helpless smiles.
Meanwhile... Lucian leaned quietly against the wall.
The corners of his lips lifted into an amused smile.
However... as he looked toward his own spirits becoming restless, he couldn’t help feeling slightly irritated.
