Chapter 595 Hot Spring Daily
Chapter 595 Hot Spring Daily
Naruto and Satsuki decided to relax here all day. True to their roles as a newlywed couple on their honeymoon, they enjoyed everything this hot spring inn had to offer.
After they finished, both of them had exhausted a lot of energy, but the exhaustion felt particularly comfortable, as if something had kneaded them from the inside out, leaving them feeling soft and pliable.
Naruto lay on his back on the bedding, his arm still draped over Satsuki's waist. Satsuki turned to his side, burying his face in the crook of Naruto's shoulder, his breathing soft and shallow, like a cat basking in the sun.
Neither of them spoke for a while before Naruto finally said, "Let's go for a soak," and Satsuki hummed in agreement.
Young people have a lot of energy. If they do nothing but soak in the hot spring with Satsuki, Naruto feels it would be hard to control himself. Moreover, the rocks by the hot spring are hard. If he can't restrain himself there, Satsuki's knees and elbows will have more bruises, after all, his physical strength is what it is. But it will definitely be uncomfortable, especially his face.
Therefore, soaking in a hot spring after finishing your treatment is the most reasonable choice.
He wanted to first burn off the energy that had driven him to madness before enjoying the warmth and tranquility of the hot springs, though Satsuki didn't really mind.
After washing away all traces, Naruto carefully examined Satsuki's neck, shoulders, and collarbone, making sure there were no marks that would be visible to others. Then, the two changed into new yukatas.
The two walked out of the room hand in hand, ready to explore the hot spring hotel.
After all, the selling point here is that it is a 24-hour resort hotel. The walls of the corridor are covered with notices of various activities, such as mahjong tournaments, karaoke competitions, and pottery workshops. They are colorful and vibrant. Naruto glanced at them as he passed by and silently crossed out most of the options in his mind.
Several automatic mahjong tables were set up in the lobby on the first floor, and a few middle-aged men were sitting there, staring at the tiles in front of them with furrowed brows.
In the adjacent rest area, a small bar was open for business. The bar counter was filled with bottles of various colors, and the bartender, dressed in a white uniform, was shaking a cocktail shaker, with ice cubes making a "clattering" sound inside.
Further inside, there is a door with a noren curtain hanging on it, with the words "Massage & Customs" written on it. The noren curtain sways gently in the air conditioning.
However, Naruto and Satsuki had absolutely no interest in any of this.
Naruto and Sasuke don't play mahjong, and neither of them really likes drinking. As for massage... that's completely forbidden.
So, Naruto and Satsuki chose a place with lots of children as their first stop: a dessert shop.
This dessert shop is located on the second floor of the hotel, and the air is filled with a sweet aroma of toasted bread and caramel.
Naruto ordered a plain egg tart, while Satsuki glanced at the dessert menu and ordered a tiramisu... in cocoa flavor.
The two of them sat down by the window with their trays. Naruto took a couple of bites, then looked up at Satsuki across from him, who was eating with a dessert spoon, spoonful by spoonful.
"How is it, Satsuki?" Naruto put down his spoon. "Is this any better than the others?" He remembered that Satsuki didn't really like sweets. He was a little worried.
"Mmm! It's delicious!" Zuo Yue nodded, her actions genuine. "Much better than what you get at ordinary dessert shops!"
It seems she really enjoys it. Naruto was relieved. Then, out of curiosity, Naruto picked up Satsuki's small spoon, scooped up a bite of her tiramisu, and put it in his mouth... Calling this a dessert doesn't seem quite right.
The cocoa flavor is very strong, almost like dark chocolate. The sweetness is neutralized to a very low level, leaving only the aroma and slight bitterness of cocoa slowly spreading in the mouth.
It wasn't bad; in fact, it had a lot of layers of flavor. But for someone used to regular desserts, it didn't really taste like a "dessert."
However, it couldn't be more perfect for Satsuki, who doesn't like sweets.
By the time the two finished their sweet talk, it was almost noon.
After leaving the dessert shop, the two originally planned to go straight to lunch, but as they walked down the corridor, Satsuki saw a stall selling trinkets and stopped to take a look. Then they saw a small shop selling handmade candies, and then passed by the small garden in the inn's courtyard. There were several maple trees in the garden, and the maple leaves were as red as fire. Satsuki and Naruto stood under the trees and took a few pictures.
These small, individual tasks don't take much time on their own, but when added together, more than an hour has passed without us realizing it.
Because of what the two of them did after returning to the house after breakfast. Couples spend too much time on things like that.
It took almost two and a half hours between returning to my room and finally getting out of bed.
Lunch is a choice of various set meals. Naruto chose the grilled beef rice bowl, where a large bowl of white rice is topped with thinly sliced grilled beef. The edges of the beef are slightly charred, while the center is still tender and red. It is drizzled with a dark brown sauce and garnished with a soft-boiled egg and a small handful of chopped green onions.
Satsuki opted for a lighter meal. Hot spring cuisine. That seems to be their specialty.
Naruto glanced at the plating of the set meal in front of Sasuke and roughly understood why this hotel dared to put the word "hot spring" on the menu.
On a lacquerware tray, several plates are neatly arranged. First are shrimp tempura and eel tempura, which are placed separately in a small bamboo basket lined with oil-absorbing paper.
A small dish of smoked beef, served with a small dish of grapefruit vinegar.
White rice is served in a black lacquered bowl, topped with a half-cooked egg, thinly sliced matsutake mushrooms, and shredded seaweed.
There were also three or four smaller plates containing pickled radishes, shredded kelp, and a small dish of some kind of pickled vegetable that I couldn't identify.
Naruto understood as well; this package was indeed designed specifically for those who had just soaked in hot springs.
The main courses were shrimp tempura and eel tempura, along with smoked beef dipped in yuzu vinegar. The meal was satisfying without being greasy.
After eating, it doesn't leave a heavy, greasy feeling in your mouth. The white rice contains eggs, matsutake mushrooms, and seaweed, so it's not monotonous even when eaten alone.
The sweetness of the eggs, the aroma of the matsutake mushrooms, and the salty umami of the seaweed blend together, offering a different flavor on the tongue with every bite, ensuring you're never bored.
Then it's served with a side dish made of radish and seaweed, which is crunchy and sour, just right to cleanse your palate after eating tempura and prepare you for the next bite of white rice.
"It's not as good as Naruto's, but it goes well with him."
Satsuki unusually gave it high praise. Satsuki isn't one to praise people casually, so when she said "it's delicious," it meant she genuinely liked it.
Then, the dessert at the end of the set meal was orange ice cream, served in a small glass bowl with a round orange scoop of ice cream on top. Just looking at it made me feel better.
Unfortunately, this is a negative factor for Satsuki.
Satsuki scooped up a spoonful of ice cream with the small spoon, put it in her mouth, then frowned slightly before putting the spoon back on the side of the bowl and gently pushing the bowl of ice cream in front of Naruto.
Naruto, used to it, picked up a spoon and started eating the orange ice cream that Satsuki had rejected. It was sweet, icy, and had a strong orange flavor, like eating a frozen orange gummy candy.
Naruto thought it tasted pretty good, but he also knew that Satsuki couldn't appreciate the taste of it.
